Just said during the A&M/State game that they could miss NCAA tournament if they don’t finish 16-14 in league play

History says if the NCAA has a chance to leave LSU out of the baseball tournament, they will.

SEC teams this year will only need 14-15 wins to get in. Heck the SEC west champ may only be 17-13.

If the regionals started today, there’s a good chance we wouldn’t be in.

" Another part of me saw an LSU team that, outside of one disastrous inning, went toe-to-toe with one of the nation’s best teams in a hostile environment and held its own." Luke Johnson-The Advocate

I guess this is who LSU is this year. With all of the losses from last year, the injuries to the pitching staff as well as our top returning position player. LSU has all but fallen off a cliff. I can't remember a team falling so hard after reaching the CWS finals. I think they'll finish 5-4 in the SEC and probably get in as a 4 seed.

I just don’t see this team belonging in the tournament.

This is a down year. It was bound to happen.

Give CPM one more year to right the ship while quietly searching for his potential replacement.

If we get in, it will be as a #3.

Some of you people are really dumb and forget we were an inning or two away from winning it all last year. Now you want to replace the guy?

Just in the last 5-6 years

Arizona 2013 went 34-21 didn’t make the tournament
UCLA 2014 went 25-30 didn’t make the tournament

If LSU gets in they’ll be a 1-3 seed. 4 seeds are for mid major conference champions.

Yeah LSU got housed big time in 2006 and 2011.

LSU is in an ok spot, thought. The next two series at home.. one against a really bad Alabama team. Finish 15-15 and don't skunk out of the SEC tournament and you're in.

Really sucks to not host a regional.. but without unexpectedly catching absolute fire they won't. But it's been a long time.. it'll be a different experience for the fans. It was pretty cool going out to UCLA in 2010.

Coastal Carolina, the 2016 NCAA champ, missed the 2017 NCAA tournament.

UCLA, the 2013 champ, missed the 2014 tournament.

It happens. Some of you people ...

Alabama and Tennessee are the only 2 in the conference with a lower RPI. The ranking does not correlate with them high recruiting classes over the years.

How do you figure we were an inning or two away from winning it all when we were swept in two games.

If we finish 5-4 and win 2 games in the tourney, i think we get in as a 2 or 3 seed

That's what Pawl told the sheeple and of course they believe it.

Surprised he didn't ask for another extension.

In game 1 we were tied going into the 8th. In game 2 we were 1 run down. An inning or two goes our way and we win it all. Not too difficult to see.

Cracks me up that people try to use last year as an excuse to put CPM on the hot seat or not credit him for the great season. No coach could meet their expectations. Hell, they probably consider Warren Buffet to be a slightly above average investor.

Is this a joke?

It's baseball, we will still make the tourney, relax.

Missing the post season might be the best thing for this team. Selfishly I hope they make it though.
