those all seem pretty minor compared to opening a hall of fame, adding suites, adding seating in RF, etc.

Seemed like PM was against this idea for a long time.
It was actually Skip who vehemently opposed the idea of a radar display that the players would be watching.

That continued even after he left as head baseball coach and became AD.

He always said he thought batters and pitchers got too caught up in watching the radar and took away their concentration from doing what they were supposed to be doing. He said he noticed that when we played at the Hoover Met in the SEC tournament.

When Mainieri first arrived and we were still at the old Box, he said he hoped a radar display could be added to the new Box when it was built.

He said the dugout knows the pitch speed anyway because we have guns working behind the plate during the entire game with the speed reported into the dugout so just putting it on the screen really wouldn't change what the players knew anyway, except they would know it immediately without having to look over someone's shoulder to see the speeds.

ETA: Most people probably don't know but the pitch speeds have been shown on a display in the press box at Alex Box for at least the last two seasons. That was done so that the media covering the game could include that information in their reporting.

The main improvement I wish is for a new 1 foot wide plank for me to cross when stumbling over the ditch after crossing Nicholson. The plank last season just wasn't cutting it!

Speaking of bitches, too bad those in LF won't get the easiest view of the gun reading. And it's even worse for the ones who are too short to see over the people behind them.

How hard is if to move towards home plate with season tickets. I think I'm done with the crappy outfield bleachers.

Not difficult at all.

All you have to do is donate a couple hundred thousand dollars to TAF and you'll be allowed to upgrade your seat locations.

No kidding. Two years ago I asked the ticket office what TAF points ranking would I need to upgrade from the green seats in the grandstand to the Champions Club seats behind the dugouts.

I was told it would take a ranking lower than 300 to have a chance. I'm about 1,050 now. To get to 300, I'd have to make an unrestricted contribution of around $100,000-$200,000 in one year. Not gonna' happen....
