The only time ULL crosses my mind is when I head west on I10 and see the signs in Lafayette.

ULL has a very good softball program, but otherwise they suck more times than not.
frick, they are so bad that La Tech is even leaving them in their wake.
I never ever think about ULL but for a time we play them and if you think the same is true for them about LSU, your seeing about 200/200.

My dad went to USL and my brothers wife did grad school at ull. My mom went to LSU, so did i and my brother. So yeah it comes up in conversation, but we dont play them every year in the main sports. We are in a better conference, LSU sports us known more nationally. So with me there is no obsession. I havent even been to laffy in 6 years and i was birn there. I really dont even know what the name of the school is anymore.

You just boiled down the argument I had with Joey Durel the day the name change became official. He was giddy as a school girl because NOW the university was legitimate, and not some double directional school! For him, and his ilk, he truly believed the name change would be the catalyst to being something different without any REAL talk about changing anything else.
I believe the response that got me yelled at was, "Fine, Joey...but Jon Lovitz could change his name to Brad Pitt, but that wouldn't mean he'd be nailing Jennifer Anniston anytime soon." He was...unamused.

And I could care less what people call the university, I was just citing what the university released. I think I speak for most fans when I say if it was up to us we'd go back to being USL
