LSU and UL in the Pontiff Classic

The Tigers and Cajuns should play more often on the diamond. Think what a 3 game series would do for both teams' RPI. We have both been consistently good in the RPI for the last 4-5 years. LSU is obviously always ranked in the polls, but now UL is making a pretty solid name for itself year in and year out as a consistent postseason team and CWS threat over the last 4 years and is once again garnering quality respect in Preseason rankings thus far with #13 and #14 in PG and CBN polls. We haven't seen a stretch like this since the '96-2000 teams.
The series between LSU and UL in recent years has been extremely competitive and has had some great drama. Although the Tigers have come out on top, Cajuns and Tigers always bring a huge crowd and the atmosphere is always electric.
A 3-game series would bring in a huge attendance early in the season and benefit both teams in the long run with RPI points.

Nah I'd rather just wait and kick their arse in the post season again

I believe they are one of the toughest teams in America this year. Lsu has an edge hitting, but I believe the Cajuns will have the best pitching staff in America this year. I'm so excited to see both. Hope they are on opposite sides in post season. Would love to see them play in Omaha

Huge attendance yes. When it comes to rpi I feel like that is only a one sided deal. LSU does well in conference and their rpi will not be much different with or without the ULL series.

If LSU was in search of RPI help, they'd schedule Miami, Fla St, Louisville or TCU. Not ULL. Fortunately, LSU doesn't need help raising its RPI.

I have never understood the hate for the Cajuns. I am a lifelong fan of both Schools. the majority of fans down here support both universities. They are in different conferences and at different levels. Their success makes no difference as far as our success is concerned. The other state school that is really good in baseball is Tulane. I see no reason why we shouldn't support them as well. We are the big dog on the Block and that's not going to change

I'm not in favor of LSU playing an ACC team in the classic

I don't see any problems with pulling for LSU, ULL and Tulane to all be good programs.
I think a bit of realistic friction between the teams and fans does add to the excitement.
The recent post season games with ULL were fun. I miss playing Tulane in high stakes games.

ULL has no one to blame for there not being a series but ULL.
LSU doesn't need a series with ULL to better their rpi or to obtain a national seed.
Maybe if ULL hadn't acted like classless punks on that fateful Sunday when LSU cleaned your clock twice, things would be different. But you did and that doesn't even consider how your team and fans treated the LSU softball team.

I don't think a series with Louisville is a great idea
