Broham, if you don't want to tell me where you live, at least tell me how far it is from your house to TS. I am struggling to understand the issue. The vast majority of fans that attend games in TS are from within 2 hours of the stadium.
It doesn't matter where I live or how far I am. I usually leave my house at 6am just to get a decent parking spot. Most of the time I have my little one and I'm not parking 3 miles from the stadium. If you can't see that most people will be upset with this, you dumb.

A&M/Texas fans sure didn't bitch about playing on thanksgiving.
Relevance?
Isn't that a tradition for them? Any TAMU fans want to explain the history of their Thanksgiving game?
ETA: I didn't even know that they played on Thanksgiving. I guess it's a huge deal to some people.
I also don't think this is an issue with season ticket holders. A good portion probably won't show. Maybe it will give the fans without season tickets a chance to see a game in TS.

Alright boys, it was fun, but I'm out of beer now.
Good night

I don't ever make the thanksgiving game anyway, at least I'll be able to watch it now.

As far as I know the last time LSU played on thannksgiving was the Alabama game in 1973....

You have not refuted any of the possible solutions I've posted. First you say you don't need to drink from 7am to 7pm, but now you are saying you go out at 6am. You bring your little one to the game...isn't this spending time with family? How far away you live matters greatly because the game and spending time with your family are not mutually exclusive. I think some people will be mildly annoyed, but I just fail to see how a 7pm game ruins everyone's Thanksgiving. Nice job resorting to the "you dumb" comment though when you had nothing else left.
Oh yeah, if so many people are going to not go to the game, won't the parking situation be all that much easier? I've parked behind the softball field multiple times at about 3 hours before game time.

LSU and Texas A&M - Primetime on Thanksgiving
How is it terrible?
The night NFL game is on the fricking NFL Network, it would be the only thing on when everybody AND their grandmother is sitting around the TV with nothing else to do.
It's brilliant.
You people who are complaining now will either relent and go to the game, or you will sit at home and watch it.
Either way - they've got you.
Worst idea ive ever heard. Especially next year, when they come to br.

I don't think it will ruin anyone's TG. Whoever wants to show up will and whoever would rather spend the holiday with family will stay home.
The question is why move it to Thanksgiving. Anyone have an acceptable answer for that?

God forbid a large number of LSU fans don't live in BR.

I have mixed views on that. LSU playing an exclusive primetime game on a night when most of the country is home and off of work is definitely a good thing. LSU doesn't "need" the exposure, but it will eventually create an identity/brand.
The flip side is that it creates an even shorter week than the Arkansas game even was, and there will only be 22,000 people in Tiger Stadium for the game.

And as I've stated, the vast majority live within 2 hours of TS. They can still leave at 2pm (after a nice early afternoon meal) and have 3 hours to tailgate. Or, they can bring a bunch of food to their tailgate and celebrate Thanksgiving there. I don't see what the big deal is.

For all the people that love this idea, answer me this. Nobody can refute that the Friday Arkansas game is the least attended SEC home game for LSU. Last year's game was the exception, but that happens when the #1 team in the nation hosts the #3 team. So the question is, how can LSU possibly have a crowd even as big as the Friday Arkansas games when the game is played on Thankksgiving Night?
This will be a shock to many people here, but many LSU fans do not live in Baton Rouge. Shockingly, not every LSU fan is a 20 something, many have big families and in-laws to visit. People can't just force all of their family, who may or may not be LSU fans, to skip work on Wednesday to have thanksgiving early.
Tiger Stadium will have empty seats on Thanksgiving night, guaranteed.

I haven't read through the whole thread but I'm excited for this game regardless of the date. Having Thanksgiving "dinner" at a tailgate is awesome. I can understand why people are probably pissed but the Thanksgiving date definitely didn't negatively impact the atmosphere around the game in the past, if anything it made it better. Hopefully that carries over to this series if its played on Turkey Day

In what way does anyone get more money for playing the game on Thanksgiving?

Season ticket holder here. Will visit with family AND in-laws, make morning Mass, eat a great Thanksgiving dinner, and still attend the game every chance I get. And I will be extremely thankful for the opportunity to watch my "damn strong football team" stomp the aggies.
I don't need to convince anyone that I am right, or that I speak for most Tiger fans. I also know that I can spend many other days besides Thanksgiving with family - I don't have to wait for that one day each year and spend 24 hours tied to the sofa or sitting room or porch, and if I did, I would then be glad to watch the Tigers on TV.
what I can't figure out is how they expect to play Ole Miss on saturday, aTm on Thusday, and Arkansas on Friday, but I'm sure they will figure it out - maybe some of that fancy conditioning they did last year.
