Yeah he must have gotten the job.

Yeah he’s definitely going to coach Kansas if he’s settling for that.

Well, that frees up a lot of money for us.

One less obligation for LSU to consider when looking at any potential staff changes.

Its a win win.
The 1.5 mil will be applied to Les' signing bonus as the OC for LSU.

The Legend of Les Miles will grow when we learn he isn't getting a new coaching position but settled so LSU can finally have a competent offense.
A fan can dream, right?

i dont understand why he would rather have 1.5 mil now instead of 6.5 mil by 2023

Because LSU get's an offset from any job he takes, as far as I know.
So if he takes a good enough job he might see none of the rest of that buyout.
This way he walks with 1.5 in addition to probably a pretty good contract at KU.

1.5 million + coaching at Kansas vs 6.5 million and not coaching until 2023
Guess he is just tired of sitting on the sidelines

Does this mean his Kansas deal is worth $5 mil?
Posted on 11/15/18 at 3:08 pm to lsuman25
So this is a sure sign he's going somewhere right?
Kansas? Purdue maybe?

Les is a better man than me. I wouldn't gone down for anything less than 3 million.
Les shoulda looked Joe f-ing alleva in the eye and said I will stay at the house and watch you pay me for anything less than 3.

Wouldn't that cause problems with the agreement? Since he has to at least "attempt" obtaining a new job?
If he is about to get a gig, that 1.5 may be 1.5 more than he would have received had he not settled. He was probably pretty open about it and both he and Alleva (or whomever made this settlement deal at LSU) had bargaining power.

Yeah, I'm sure. But, if I were him I'd try to stick it to Alleva. It's one thing to fire Miles, it's another to hire coach shrimp boat to replace him.
But I'm a mean and spiteful person and Les probably doesn't need 1.5 million more anyway.
