You need to understand something - these people are Les Miles worshipers first, LSU fans second

serious question, what would be your preferred process to accomplish this? i'm not being critical of you...i just want to know how you would handle it.
well first, i would start by not leaking info that the BOD has approved a buyout from the idiot boosters in the middle of November so the media can't run with it and make it seem like Les Miles is being forced out.

i gotta say, it does seem that way sometimes.
the same people who call out doom & gloomers are calling for doom & gloom post-Miles. what the heck?
but i do understand your position, however i just don't see how LSU's screwed this up when they've said and done absolutely nothing thus far.

Miles has played LSU REPEATEDLY to his advantage... flirted with other schools to garner undeserved raises. He is stubborn and would rather lose doing things his way than adapt to try something different and have a shot at winning. Coaches are hired to be fired. Its business. Because you work with people that went to other schools makes you an authority on this? Get over yourself a-hole. We are middle of the pack and fading fast. If that's your vision for LSU then please go find another school to cheer for. Losing is tolerable but getting embarrassed three weeks in a row on national tv by using a system that has no imagination and by refusing to make any change to said system is the reason people want him gone. You suck. Your post sucks, and I imagine that you are not a very successful person if you subscribe to the theory of "letting nice people do whatever they want". In short, Les Miles has made tens of millions off of LSU. He will be fine. Most of all, LSU made Les... not the other way around!!

You are... You're more worried about how Les feels, than about the future of LSU football.

im worried about showing respect to a man that undoubtedly deserves it and the future of LSU football.
i'm a multitasker

In what way? What has LSU done? Use your words...
For me it's not really if he should be fired or retained. It's how they handle it and having "top official" a-holes leaking information and/or running their mouth about the money for the buy out is not a problem.
I don't care what other people/universities say or do; we should act with class and handle this behind closed doors. We have the damn media putting this shite show on internet, asking players, running stories, etc. It is disrespectful to the players, to the coaches, and it does make us look like a bunch of mouth breathers.
What happens if the anger wears off and these "money people" realize $15M is a hell of a lot of money to dump to replace Miles and prefer to wait. What did all this really do??? Hurt recruiting?? Damage the potential hiring of the next candidate b/c it looks like our program is run by idiots (which I am thinking we are). It also shows the college world that our coach is not supported by the admin or boosters. Just curious how many people on this board would be very passionate about doing their job to the fullest of their ability knowing you don't have the support of your leadership.
The point is be professional, keep this crap behind closed doors. Evaluate the coach at the end of the season, like it should be done every year. If they agree to move in a different direction then do it. If not, then support the guy you have.

This sentiment is almost un-American. The total aversion to taking a risk is beyond me.
Luckily, we are at the crossroads and poised to make a decision, for better or worse.

If it goes on longer than next week we are fricked.
It's already gone on too long. Shea Patterson looks like a genius. Franks just decommitted publicly but had talks with the coaches privately about it prior. How many other recruits are doing the same because the administration came out talking without a plan.
They've been given the ammunition to tear the whole thing down with seemingly no true direction.
We had the #1 class two years behind signing the #2 class in the nation. The pay-off was going to be huge. I can't believe nearly half the base thought it would be better to sabatoge it. Everyone knew the QB couldn't be ready year 1; Everyone knew eventually teams would force that QB to beat them; Everyone knew we had the #1 class coming in next year; Everyone knew we were rebuilding the defense more reflective of a certain rivals; but no one had the patience.
But it is what it is. The train has left the building now. The BOS needs to stop talking and start planning how to deal with this. Miles is a lame duck so they can't look at him now to fix this with the media or recruiting. They have to do it. They need to come forward with a plan.

Bingo. What happens if they calm down and decide to give him one more year...SECCG or bust? everyone looks like idiots and we've lost the #1 recruiting class.
great job everyone

You get paid to come here and do this don't you?

What exactly have they done that is indecent or disrespectful? So far, all I've seen is wild media speculation or rants on message boards from frustrated fans, which nobody at LSU can control. The only things I've heard from anyone who is actually involved in this are Weems' comments in support of Miles and Alleva's "no comment". What else would you have them do?
It's what they haven't done - why hasn't anyone in power said something like, "We evaluate all our athletic programs at the end of each season. If any changes are forthcoming, we will report them. We have a football season to complete, and Les Miles is our coach. Anything else is rampant speculation."
They will do what they are going to do, but letting this explode publicly and not attempting to shut it down is incompetent at best.

How do you know they aren't?
I can observe, listen and watch. No word from the administration, just these "leaks" and anonymous sources, etc. Les has to face the press and say he hasn't been told anything.
LSU is being laughed at across the country. I realize it is a business, yada, yada but the way this is being handled is doing more damage to the LSU brand than anything CLM has ever done.
I'm not against firing Les, making a change or whatever needs to happen but the way the "powers that be" are handling this is sorry to say the least.
In the long run does it matter what I think? Not at all. But that is what TD is for.

I would, yes.
