i hope there are some boosters that read this board because you guys are fricking idiots. you want to strongarm a coach and force him out unceremoniously without showing him the least bit of respect even after all he's done for the university, the city, and the state. frick you guys. But fine...you want to force out the best coach in LSU history and one of the winningest coaches since 2005 go ahead. You'll just look like bigger morons than you already are.

All of this.

This is what happens when you let these people make decisions. They're just as dumb and irrational as anyone. The only difference is they have money.

I agree that Alleva and co. should have kept their mouths completely shut. The media is kicking the hornets' nests.

Im in Texas..LSU is now a laughing stock of the NCAA...Everyone I talk to about this is scratching there head thinking WTF? And then laugh...

Texas? LOL. Those hicks let Mack Brown stay long enough to run that program into the ground. Now the best they could do is Charlie Strong coming off of 3 years as a HC at Louisville and there is still no improvement 2 years in. Texas is actually getting worse.

Miles has become complacent and the lemmings of the fanbase have become scared shite less of change. Newsflash, I'd the next coach goes 8-5, that's the same Miles would have done. He is not changing. You can replace both coordinators and the S/T coach and he would still lose 4-5 games because he refuses to release his choke hold on the offense. His evaluation of OCs and QBs are horrendous and his entire philosophy just doesn't work anymore when other teams are getting more talent and better coaching.

how's it handling it though?

alleva hasn't made any statements, has he? i'm not sure. do you want him to give the dreaded vote of confidence publicly?

the talking heads are going off of sources, the same sources that gave them the miles to michigan scoop, no?

and this media is still the same media that calls miles an idiot every chance they get, now they try to castrate LSU for supposedly trying to get rid of said 'idiot?'

It's a realistic question. With the talent and budget at LSU, we expect to be competitive. We have not been competitive in the West (8-9 over 3 years). If we don't have a Jimbo (or an equally qualified candidate) lined up than our AD has made a huge mistake. You go down this route unless you have your guy.

I understand and respect your passion.

However, I don't know what 'shitshow' you refer to. I am reserving judgment. I am assuming (and you know what they say about assuming) that LSU already has something lined up w/ the next coach. If that is Jimbo Fisher, I will be happy.

Otherwise, you're right, this has been a 'shitshow.' I personally have no problem w/ LSU moving on from Miles, given NOT ONLY the last 3 games, but the last 3 years. What I don't necessarily understand is why things were leaked to the media. It seems they could have done this without floating trial balloons in the media.

I DO think Coach Miles deserves to be treated well and as an outgoing coach who won a NC, played for another, and always represented LSU with class.

All that said, the man is going to be paid a nice chunk of free money, he owns a house in Destin ... things could be worse for the Miles family.

Les flirted with Arky for a raise, definitely lined up a deal with UM at least one time, but sure he is totally loyal. And loyalty is the only criteria for a HC

Therein lies your disconnect. This is a huge business where money is king. It's not all sunshine and daisies. I know you're upset over all the poopy talk about your man, but that's how this shite works. Maybe you should follow pee wee football.

You need to understand something - these people are Les Miles worshipers first, LSU fans second, and you have dared to besmirch the reputation of their idol.

It's a business. They are putting millions into that program so I don't think they really care what the fans think of them about handling it the way they want to handle it.

That program is generating millions, they are sitting there with their arms open under the money waterfall and simply deciding how much money the program gets to keep. The coaches and the players they recruit are the true revenue generators. Don't forget that. Louisiana is a football state. The BOS and Alleva barely have to do anything except figure out how much they can go up on ticket prices and parking fees.

If it's a business to them, run it like a business man and not a fan. Have a plan!

serious question, what would be your preferred process to accomplish this? i'm not being critical of you...i just want to know how you would handle it.

who says they don't?

just because we don't see the inner workings with our very own eyes doesn't mean there are back channels being used and negotiations being had behind closed doors.

like what everyone else says, we're dumb to the process.
