We played them a few times over the years in those 2 decades. The Jabari funk dunk game and the Santa Clause game before Christmas 2002 (when Dickie V was loved) come to mind

Would piss off the absolute gammon head media types like Forde/Vitale .

Winner gets a strong arse rpi boost

I know I was at that game, but I'm having trouble remembering the specifics. Didn't Ronald Dupree have a big impact on that one?

ETA: I was remembering the late turnover he had.

Sean Miller and Pear take a bow at mid court at both venues!

Kelly Orgeron with the half court scholarship shot!

That 99-00 season had a strange flow and may have been Brady's best team...including the 2006 Final Four team. LSU went undefeated in OOC play. Then, they started SEC play 1-3 (losing three straight) before going 14-1 to finish the season, including blowing out #5 Arizona.

It looked like they were set up for a Final Four run in the tournament. Arizona was the #1 seed in their bracket. THEN, Arizona got upset by #8 Wisconsin in the second round, leaving LSU as the best seeded team remaining in the region. (the other half of the region was #6 Purdue v. #10 Gonzaga). EVERYTHING had fallen LSU's way. Unfortunately, they matched up against Brady's kryptonite. A great defensive team (Wisconsin) that forced LSU to run an efficient offense. Brady's fatal flaw.

Just goes to show you how important matchups are in the NCAAT

Sean and Billy will embrace at mid court in a sign of solidarity. Then Torris Bright will sing the national anthem.

Only after Magnum Rolle and Steve Kerr perform “Born in the USA” and John Brady and Josh Pastner sing 50 ways to leave your lover.

We can use the proceeds to throw a Dick Vitale funeral party when that POS croaks.

It was even crazier in the 80s and early 90s. That was our first good team in 7 seasons. Remember beating the shite out of Kentucky on valentines day. Tayshaun Prince gfy
