Anyone ever been to College Station? Where is there to go in town after the game?

Starkville is more exciting than College Station. Oh, please forgive me for insulting you people in Starkville for even making such a comparison.

Your title led me to believe this post was about your experience. I was expecting a book with that title.

Ain't shite in college station unless you are by campus. They have some bars here and there but overall
I'd get the hell out of college station and go to Houston if I were you

There's 40 bars within 3 miles of campus, 30 of which border campus. Ain't shite to do, my arse?

Some of you clearly haven't been to CS in a long damn time.

Starkville is 30k people and a shithole. B/CS is 233K people, and there is plenty of nightlife unlike Starkville. Plus the tailgating in CS is 3x more people than anything the MS schools have to offer.

Hey, Gravy

Where's Treeline Dr in College Station? It's not coming up in my GPS? Is it close to the bars at Northgate? How far?

It's about a 10-15 minute drive to Northgate. You're way out on the southwest side of town when you are on Treeline Drive.

We don't have corps centric bars so no worries about gay bars in CS. Gotta go into Bryan to find those.

Here's what I'd do.... exit Rock Prairie Road (take a left onto Rock Prairie)... Go down Rock Prairie until you hit Wellborn Road (FM 2154). Take a left on Wellborn... go down until you see Capstone Drive on your right and take that right. You'll take a left onto Apricot Glen and then you'll intersect Treeline.

thanks for the sense of humor. Some of your fellow Aggies have taken our jabs way too personal.

My several trips to College Station put us on the bad end of an arse-whoopin', so we never went out after the game... usually just drove back to BR

As for bars after the game, depending on your tastes, I'd offer these up on Northgate.

Bars (most on Northgate):
Corner Bar -- 3 story bar with a rooftop bar on Northgate
Dixie Chicken -- Staple of Northgate that sells an *** ton of beer per square foot (Northgate)
Dry Bean Shot Saloon -- 250 shots on menu (Northgate)
The Ranch -- Rooftop two story bar.
Church Street BBQ and Blues -- Outdoor live music and great beer specials
Schotzi's -- Live Music outside and inside on Northgate
Zapatos -- Live Music on the porch, good margaritas on Northgate
Barber Shots -- Shot bar next to Zapatos on Northgate
Daisy Dukes -- Dancing, young college girls in basically nothing on Northgate
OBannons -- Irish Pub with 100 beers available on Northgate
Paddock Lane -- Low key, good service on Northgate
Tipsy Turtle -- Daquiri Bar New Orleans Style on Northgate
Fitzwillys -- two story live music venue, cheap drinks on Northgate
Duddleys Draw -- Front and back porch with cheap drinks
315 Shot Bar -- Like Dry Bean on Northgate
Madhatters -- 80s bar with a back porch and tall beers on Northgate
Basil Whippets -- Apothecary Lounge (two story) on Northgate
Logans -- Sports bar with 44 oz. beers on Northgate
V Bar -- more greek crowd, dancing
Gatsbys -- dancing, small (on Northgate)
Hookah Lounge -- hookah bar that serves booze on Northgate
Cedar Lane -- New bar with plenty of outdoor seating and an interesting "wake me up" drink that will make you forget 10 minutes ago.
Rebel Yell -- New draft house right next to Cedar Lane
Hurricane Harrys -- Country Dancing on Northgate
The Tap -- my favorite bar not on Northgate (Harvey Road)... cheap drinks, good food
Fox and Hound -- Tons of beers on tap on University Drive
Carneys -- On South College on Bryan/College Station Line
Downtown Bryan -- 4 or so bars in a revamped Downtown that has live Music most every night and good eating as well. About 20 minutes from campus.

I miss the Slut Hut =(

quote:

At the West-most end of Northgate, near Wellborn Road, was a burger joint we called "The Slut Hut", probably derived from the personal characteristics of the high-school girls from the local community that worked there.

I can't recall if the building is still there, I'll look tomorrow. But that building has always been called the Slut Hut nomatter what restaurant was there.
