UK and Auburn most last night. We are the only team left that hasn’t lost in conference. Hope we can navigate these injuries.

They were killing me Tuesday night against the Aggies by throwing so many 3's up. They need to work inside more even thought A&M had the big shot blocker in the middle. They have to learn to work more inside. Especially when you see how bad you're 3 point game is going.

They have been in some tight games. It looks to be one of those teams that will allow the opponent to hang around.

They are looking pretty decent and LSU Basketball has been fun to watch again for the last several years.

Enjoy it. It won't last. We are a point guard away from challenging the top, this year. They are grinding it out with what is available, but you can see the shortfall in ball handling and decision making.

I have watched. A&M almost knocked us off, killing it from 3. They are historically bad at 3 pointers, but we could not figure out how to defend a bottom feeder. We lucked out this time, but can't anticipate doing the same against a Kentucky, Auburn or Florida. Missing key players, but those players do not defend the perimeter. WW needs to step it up.

So you're argument is that because a team had an uncharacteristic good shooting night we aren't gonna be near the top of the league...

4 games isn't a huge sample size, but what's impressed me the most about this team is their ability to adapt to attack a team's weakness for the most part (collapsing in against a Tenn. team who wasn't great from outside, crashing the glass vs. a very small Arkansas team).

No team in this league is a world beater right now, but LSU is certainly in the running of being one of the top 3 or 4

Forcing the worst three point shooting team in the country to shoot three's is not a deficiency... They made shots. That happens sometime. Amazingly, LSU was able to win despite aTm making a significantly higher % of three's than they normally do.

I don't expect LSU to win the SEC, but I didn't expect them to win it last year either. If LSU is able to navigate the losses of both Manning and Taylor unscathed into the Auburn game, I will feel a lot more confident in our chances of winning the SEC.

Whether it lasts or not, I’m just excited that LSU is 4-0 in conference with as many obstacles as you mentioned. I think we have a ceiling of sweet sixteen or just second round this year and that’s okay. Will Wade is doing a good job with this squad and overall. Making the tournament every year is much more fun than what we experienced since Brady left.

I'll take luck anyday..fortunately our starting 5 is still intact..bad thing is LSU doesnt have much expirience off the bench but hey who knows someone may start to shine..maybe Graves or Hyatt..but this team doesnt look any worse than anyone else in the league..i'll take it...

Yep, and even Brady didn't make the NCAA Tournament every year... I've said for a while, the floor for LSU should be consistent tournament appearances, and then occasionally a deep run.

We have yet to see a deep run team from Wade, but I have a feeling it'll click and be here one of these years

We lost out this past recruiting season with the FBI scandal. If we can still go to the tournament this year to keep the momentum moving in the right direction I have little doubt that Wade can keep us moving in the right direction of being a consistent tournament team with a final four sprinkled in every once in a while.

Every game is big. But the game @ Ole Miss is huge because it presents another winnable road game. After Saturday and the next road game @ Vandy, the schedule away from home gets tough:

@ Auburn
@ Alabama (they're coming on and just crushed AU at home)
@ South Carolina (just beat UK at home)
@ Florida
@ Arkansas

To go into that stretch with 4 road wins already in pocket would be huge. That means they would only have to find a way to win one of those last 5 to ensure a winning road record in conf. play. There may be no bigger single metric on a NCAAT resume than a a teams record in road games.

If I'm gonna say we are missing a specific piece its not PG to me. I'd say something like a true 5. Bigsby Williams would be so great for this team.

It blows my mind that LSU is now the favorite via KenPom to win the SEC...

And second thing I notice is both Auburn and Kentucky are underdogs in their next game. Could actually give us some wiggle room.

Yep. Smart has done a complete 180 since the beginning of the season and is starting to settle into his role.

Everyone looks at offense and says what needs to improve, but the fact of the matter is this offense is one of the best in the country. It may not always look "pretty" but they have ZERO issue scoring the ball (MSU was really the lone anomaly when they just couldn't buy a 3 pointer or FT). Out of 353 D-1 teams LSU's offense is the 6th most efficient. Offense isn't a problem.

I'm sure I'll get bashed again for saying it, but the anchor on this team reaching its full potential is its consistent lack of consistent defense. They are currently 119th in defensive efficiency. That's far and away the worst rating of any team in the KenPom top 50. How does a team that is in the top 10 in the nation in PPG and one of the most efficient scoring machines in CBB always seem to play in close games, regardless of quality of opponent? It's because they don't stop the other team from scoring.

Because of their scoring ability this team doesn't have to be Texas Tech or Virginia on defense. But they can't let dogshit offenses like A&M erupt for season highs and damn near pull out a game where LSU was outstanding once again in efficiently scoring the basketball. It's not being "mad" that LSU is 4-0 in conf. play. It's looking down the road and saying "I hate that this team didn't reach its full potential simply because they refused to focus some emphasis on the other side of the ball." This LSU team is a supremely athletic, versatile group. But there is NO WAY that natural athletic ability can only manifest itself on one end of the court
