You people are fricking retarded. He got subpoenaed against his will and now the same people who subpoenaed him are trying to sink him. Jeez, he is not under investigation.

Then there is the matter of what Wade might say on the witness stand at the federal trial in April to which he reportedly has been subpoenaed

He was subpoenaed by the defense.

Yes he is, by LSU's own compliance department. His refusal to comply is what got him suspended.

Wade made a choice.

What they did wrong was asking him to come talk to them while he has legal counsel and is under subpoena ... no one in their right mind would have thought he even could talk to them right now.

So, they’re either lying about their reason for suspending him, or they’re the dumbest mother frickers this side of the Mississippi.

This a bazillion times.

That does not make him less of a "federal witness". Unless you want to define that term ultra narrowly to only people called by the prosecution.

He absolutely can. In fact his lawyer could be present in the meeting.

There's no gag order as far as I know.

Stop being so literal. You are being intentionally obtuse.

So, it's your opinion then he could have talked to his supervisors and refused...

Damn it Roger. He’s the fricking AD. Of course he is the target. If you are saying he is just a puppet then he should have the temerity to cut the strings. But Joe is weak. He is bad for LSU.

But, again, when the subject of the conversation will be the same as what you are going to talk about as a witness in a federal trial, you don't do it. And you know this.

To save a job? Hell yeah you do it if you have nothing to hide. Particularly when you've been accused of being dishonest. He doesn't have to reveal details, just convince them he's innocent.

It was a calculated risk by him and his attorney. Wade chose to cover his arse instead of be with his team.

It shouldn’t have compromised his job. The meeting should have never been called in the first place.

LSU *may* have cause to fire him, and if they do, they’ll save millions of dollars because of it. It’d be insane not to call for the meeting, and Wade would be insane to meet. Each party has acted logically, given each party’s circumstances.

Probably true, but he's not the villain in this story.
