I am a little weary of thinking the foul situation is a big deal. Clearly can't watch games but based on tweets, video, etc. I have seen, it appears there is some home cooking. I'd imagining a scene where Benny gets mugged (see LSU basketball tweets) and a no call then someone like Darcy is straight up and down and is run into and the whistle is blown. Don't worry too much about it until we see 4-5 NCAA games.

And to answer the question, Victor is strong (pro strong)... banging won't be an issue but he won't protect rim from help side (that will be LSU's biggest issue, no real help side defender to deter slashers). Hopefully the overall length and quickness will make it tougher for players to get clean looks over primary defender.

100% agree with you there D. I am so damn excited. The schedule got me all kinds of pumped up. This week has been fantastic but it will be sad to see it end Saturday...

I for one can't wait to see this team play. Epps will be huge for this team. A versatile guy off the bench with his height and skill set is hard to find. But for those who have never seen Sampson play, will be extremely happy. He is so smooth and is such a great shooter. Reminds me of Alan Houston but with more springs.

One of my favorite stat lines on that sheet is 15 offensive rebounds and 5 coming from Epps. Love seeing guys control the glass on the offensive side of the ball.

Excuse my ignorance, but the NCAA is switching the shot clock from 35 seconds to 30 seconds??

Yes. It will be 30 seconds this season.

Thats huge. That plays in our favor BIG TIME.

And as someone mentioned earlier in this thread, the biggest issue LSU will face, next to interior defense, is our posts getting in foul trouble.
If we get to the back end of the second half with Simmons+Victor in foul trouble, we will have problems.
But other than that... Fuuck, this team is stacked!

Epps played almost 20 minutes, scored some points and pulled in 9 rebounds. I like it.

It's about playing D and getting some stops that will determine LSU's fate, offensively they will be fine. With lower shot clock it's not asking too much to guard and slow team's down. That guy this morning should not have gone off for 30, that should be the message from Jones Sat - stop this guy

How much longer are these games compared to Ncaa rules?

The games are not any longer than NCAA BB. Four 10 minute quarters vs. two 20 min halves.

Can Epps give us a shot blocker in the lineup. I thought that his length and explosion were two of his big strengths.

He could grow into a shot blocker. Blocking shots is as much instinct as it is size and athleticism.

Yes, and I believe he was a late bloomer physically, grew like 6" in his last 2 years of hs. Totally possible there. I've talked to some hs basketball coaches this summer, and they all really like Victor. Told me what I'd hoped to hear and sounds like a perfect fit. Guard play is so big now, and has always been so tournament time, so thatdefinitely bodes well. I'm excited. We have length, shooters, a 30sec shot clock and those all mix in for what I believe will be a recipe for success

Thanks, the scores seem rather high. Must be partly because of the shite clock.
