Cuz he wanted to? Who the hell knows.
Score was 7-3 when he did it. Likes to work relievers during the mid week games.

Nice rally in the 9th. Too bad we couldn't get the win. Our pitching has been saving us, guess it wasn't their nite.

PM could have 1800 wins right now if he won 75% of his weekday games

Walking the bases loaded was so stupid.

The usual great effort against another in state school who will never appreciate the chance given to them to get this opportunity.

Loading bases isn’t a terrible move, this is on the players for falling apart

Awful. Simply awful and uncalled for. Always has been, much less in this day and age.

123 inning and poof they are gone like Bain and Peterson

Maineri has been doing this shirte for years .... pulls a pitcher who is successful in one inning and takes a chance on the next and the next and sooner or later you are going to get a wild reliever just like tonite...

Why did he pitch Bain in the 7th?

Bain could have pitched the 9th. He was still in the game.

Will it get better losing to Tulane with a RPI of 116? Too many of these losses to teams with losing records.

LSU athletics is the most over priced non productive product on the market today. Save your money and go to the casino and play video poker. You’ll come out much better.

This is on the coach. Walking the bases loaded with your best man on the mound.
WRONG! Walking the bases loaded is exactly what should be done with a runner on third and one out. It's a desperation move but it's a desperate situation.

No coach is going to assume his pitcher won't throw a strike afterwards.

If I had to guess I would say that his philosophy is that he wants to get his relievers the pressure of game-time experience for when it counts in postseason. You never know when you're going to have to rely on those guys later when it matters more and you don't want them crumbling under that pressure. He Figures it's just a midweek game anyway so he knows he'll get to the postseason regardless.

I feel it puts even more pressure on the defense.

The reliever who just threw 8 straight balls has to now throw strikes.

I completely agree with the first walk so it sets up a DP that can get you out the inning. With the bases loaded and only 1 out now the batter simply can wait till you throw a strike. And you also have to take into account the ump might actually squeeze the pitcher.

And this wasn't hindsight. I never liked the idea an unintentional walk could beat us there after the same pitcher just threw 8 straight balls.

Exactly!!

CPM problem is, and always has been his pitching rotation/selection. He just can’t figure it out.

And how did that turn out for you? You don't walk the bases loaded with a guy who can't throw a strike. It's not like he pitched several innings before to prove he had control.

The rotating of the pitchers in the midweek game is him evaluating and figuring it out.
