If it was, it's way off base anyway. The kid was hitting .261 earlier today. Not sure what that fell to after the game, but I cant say hes been terrible more than good when hes hitting better than most everyone else on the team except for about 3 guys.

So hitting .252 while being a liability in the outfield is good?
C'mon man, Hampton has the tools to be good, really good, but you're propping him up when, to this point, his best has been mediocre.

I think you are trying to make something else out of what I said.
I simply said I see the kid moving up in the lineup as he gets more comfortable at the plate. I think that will happen. He has potential and, to this point, he has been better than most of the other kids on the team (I never said anything about the kid being an All American) I said I see him moving up in the order.
And I did very clearly say that the offense has been very bad to this point. Nothing about what I said implied he has been a great player. I said our lineup could get better and gel as the season moves along.

But that's my point, his role with the team will shrink as the season moves because of spring football.

Texas changed pitchers yesterday. Mainieri was talking to the batter. Cain was talking to the base runners. Eddie was hovering in the background with his clipboard. I’m not sure Mainieri let’s him do anything right now.
