Honestly forgot Bianco existed.

I haven't been his biggest fan, but I would've been ok with pinch hitting him and then bringing on Hughes at SS if we tied it up or took the lead.

Yea, I don’t know why he’s not hitting 2nd.

At the end of the day, Mathis went down with the bat on his shoulder with runners on second and third. That’s unacceptable.

Didn’t have the bats to catch up in the end! Beginning to think the hitting coach is a myth

Maybe. But the lack of offense also has been a killer. Paul made a good decision changing it up for this year, but hiring former players and friends is making me think of Miles.

The hitting was the obvious weakness from the start. Look- 2/3 this weekend would be great.... But I THINK we’re simply a “pretty good” team. Our pitching is too good for us to be bad and our hitting is too average to be really good... I HOPE I’m wrong but I see a 2 seed in a regional somewhere and thats it.

Now- let all the “experts” tell me I’m judging too early.

That was a bad call by the ump. Kid should’ve protected the plate no doubt, but that was 100% a ball that the catcher framed nicely.

You probably are. I dont know how good a team this will end up being at the end of the year. The offense has been pretty bad, but there has also been a lot of inconsistency in the lineup.

The lineup could certainly begin to come together more and I can assure you that our front end pitching is better than anyone else in the country. I do not know how deep our bullpen currently is, but the front end is there. I believe that Hill will be starting by the end of the season and that will give LSU a 1-2 that can beat absolutely anyone (and that is with a stagnant and inconsistent offense). How about having Landon Marceaux match up against everyone's Sunday starter?

I could also see Hampton batting higher up in the order than 8th once he gets more comfortable.

When will he have time to get comfortable, he's going to be leaving the team for spring football soon.

Frankly, I think he looks pretty good right now. Has an easy swing and makes a lot of hard contact. Nothing wrong with that.

He's had more terrible AB's than good ones and has looked wildly uncomfortable in the outfield.

K cool. So you dont like him.

I see a shitload of potential. Especially for a kid that's a freshman that didnt play fall ball. He looks SIGNIFICANTLY better than a lot of the hitters we have run up to the plate.

Exactly. Turned down a $1.8m signing bonus and a late first round draft pick with MLB out of HS. I’m pretty sure they saw something they liked.

Never said that. He just hasn't been good for us yet.

No shite, but you were talking about once he gets comfortable, I was asking when he will have time to do that because he will be leaving for spring football soon.

Has this been confirmed? We're all assuming this is the case.

I've heard it inferred on multiple broadcasts.

Dude is the starting safety, can't imagine O won't just let him skip a spring.

Very clearly said I think he already looks good. Sorry that phrase upset you so much.

LOL, can you not handle a counterpoint? Didn't know I was supposed to just blindly agree with you. My bad.

In a perfect world, Hampton wouldn't really need the 15 practices in football and could continue to develop in baseball. He had a 5 game hit streak coming into the weekend. But, I agree that I can't imagine him not being involved in spring practice.
