It's strange what you remember about things. I lived off of Parker in 1997, by GF's (now wife) grandmother passed away the morning after the FLA game.
LSU QB= Herb Tyler
Southern's QB= Marcus Jacoby
I had a co-worker who played for Southern so in that year I kept up with both teams on a weekly basis.

Gerry Dinardo was an excellent person and a pretty good coach. He got things rolling in the right direction for Saban. Fond memories of him and his family.

C'mon, Roger, you're old enough to remember the, "Help Mack Pack!" campaign of 1979.
He deserved better.

You must’ve forgotten how bad the defense was. Lou Tepper was worse than John Chavis! Refused to fire him which led to him being fired.

LSU 1997: My Favorite - HC Gerry DiNardoquote:Would y’all trade the Florida win and swap it with wins over auburn and ole miss that year? Lsu would have won the sec west going to their first sec championship against Tennessee that year led by Payton Manning. Since we’ve now been to Atlanta a handful of times, no way. That Florida game is one of the all-time classics of Tiger Stadium. I made the trip over from Jax to go to it with my brother. Glorious. I’d say no even if we were still waiting on our first trip to Atlanta.
My dad cried at the end of that game. We were watching the last minute from the south upper end zone and had walked to ground level. GOD IT WAS LOUD

I asked him specifically about the white Jerseys at home (which I HATE) and he told me it was the PR Department.

Traffic jam from hell. I then had to find two tickets and dad was suffering from circulation issues in his hands from his bombing missions over France and Berlin in B 17's in WW2. We scored two tickets and got seated a few plays after kick off. What a crap effort from LSU.

The recruiting of HC Gerry DiNardo is without a doubt the finest in the history of LSU Football. Gerry was a former 1973 Notre Dame NC guard under Ara Raoul Parseghian.

If DiNardo goes for 2 against south Carolina instead of the tie, and 4th and 2 vs Auburn when he had Cecil Collins, there is no Nick Saban.
