Going off of this post. It gives less of a reaction time so you have to figure out quickly what the spin of the ball is doing because the ball can dive down if top spun, it can be back spun and carry over your head.

Pretty much. There is a trick though, You step to either side a few steps and it usually gives you a better perspective. You kind of make judgments on the sound of the hit as well. It's still easy to misjudge those even with that, though, and on a line drive you may not have time to move to the side.

It's true. Depth percertion is tough when it is hit right at you.
