Seems like we need to get a new coach. It's going to get worse with Texas and Oklahoma coming in the league. Only going to get further behind.

They don’t develop

The same issues that plaque this team year after year don’t change.

You’re not going to get any big time coach nor any coach that has their team on our level. That’s why you got to Hammond and bring in Fremin.

357, aren't you a pretty big softball fan - or at least know more about it than an idiot like me?

Do you think we should fire or just let the contract run out? Also, who would LSU be able to bring in that would be an improvement? I can understand want some new blood in the program, no doubt, just trying to gain some insight.

I'm not sure why we'd fire a softball coach and pay a buyout (I'm guessing she has one) when she only has a little bit of time left on her contract. I want LSU to win at everything they compete in, but let's be real here people. I won't even mention the fact we just lost in a super regional to the best pitcher in the country.

And I'm not opposed to a change, just trying to keep things in perspective here.

We finished as a 8 seed in the SEC with a 5th year senior heavy team. Next year even with Berzon and Heavener is gonna be a rebuild, and life is dramatically more difficulty with close to 5-6 losses almost penciled in adding OU/TX to the SEC schedule

I suspect they just let her contract play out. They aren’t buying her out with 2 years left. The rest will take care of itself

Next year even with Berzon

If I'm Berzon I'm going to a program that will actually have a real chance at winning a title

Thanks for that response!

I'm curious the type of commitment LSU wants to make towards softball. With some of the contracts we're already paying for coaches, I question if Scott will actually spend money to go pull a coach away from another successful program.

Don’t get me wrong, Kenny G would be a great get but I said before that this would be a lateral move for him as far as softball is concerned and he would still be playing second fiddle to Gasso.

Yea, that's really my only doubt in this.

It's hard for me to see Scott doing that. He's certainly dished out some money for some great coaches, but not sure I could see him doing that for softball when taking everything into account. Not to mention, we just went wild having to pay buyouts and hire a whole new defensive staff in football.

He probably makes way to much money but I would give Mike Stith a call and have him move his complex here. Again, he probably makes way to much doing what he does now.

I’m not sure but lsu has some of THE best facilities in softball in the entire country with the indoor training facility, tiger park, great fan attendance/support. It’s a very attractive job in general. The only downside is Louisiana isn’t exactly a hot bed for talent to everything comes down to OOS recruiting. But LSU hasn’t had issues landing top in general across the country. We have struggled in the development department
