It's flawed thinking. You give them an out by bunting. You're setting yourself up to score 1 run. LSU likely will not win this game scoring 3 runs. You get a runner at second with none out, you have a chance for a big inning. You bunt, you're essentially settling for a run. It's too early in the game to play for 1 run.
I don't care that the kid can't hit. Let him still swing away. He might run into one. He doubled in the first game. Better than a fricking pop-up.
I'm sick and goddamn tired of playing for 1 run before the 7th inning. This isn't 1985 Major League Baseball.
