Just saw this line posted on one betting web site. Do people think that we cover that? I don't have a strong feeling one way or the other, but if I had to bet I'd probably say that we keep it pretty vanilla in advance of the UT game and end up winning something like 38-17 (and therefore not covering). I hope I'm wrong, though, and that we win 52-0!

By the way, other SEC lines for the opening weekend (and "week 0"):

Florida -7.5 vs Miami
Texas A&M -34.5 vs Texas State
Kentucky -12 vs Toledo
Mississippi State -22.5 vs UL-Lafayette
Ole Miss +6 at Memphis
Tennessee -25.5 vs Georgia State
South Carolina -7.5 vs North Carolina
Alabama -32.5 vs Duke
Missouri -14.5 at Wyoming
Auburn -3 vs Oregon

Seems about right, they had T town on ropes at half and 26 is a lot. Not betting it...

If we see "vanilla" then that means we don't have shite going on offense and we've had smoke blown up our arses once again.

I don't think that's necessarily true. I think that's just how Orgeron coaches. Vanilla vs the lesser teams. I don't get it though. How does a team get very good at something if they don't get as many game reps as possible? Also, the players know the gameplan and if it is vanilla, then it's probably natural to have some letdown in energy and focus for the game.

I thought we just had a conversation about "saving offense" and you agreed that it was a ridiculous concept.

Now you're ok if we're "vanilla" in our opening game.

People wonder why Bama is where they are and why we aren't. It's because we think being "vanilla" is ok.

We win handily but don't cover. Don't bet it. Vegas wants you to badly. The next game is the real opener.

Well, they run an unusual offense, and this will be our first game breaking in a replacement for Devin White as the centerpiece of the defense. I could see them putting up a couple of touchdowns in the first half, then being held to a field goal in the second as he Tigers adjust. I could well envision a halftime score like 21-14, with accompanying freak-out on this site, followed by us pulling away in the second half to finish 38-17.

40,50,60 a game does not equal “vanilla” offense so we better cover
