Yes, it might be hard to grasp, but Louisiana STATE University is not a private school and is on the STATE government tit. Along with the University of Louisiana-Lafayette.

Except when any state university outside of LSU uses state money it’s waste and abuse. Especially on this board.

Do you know anything about the construction cost index? It could help you understand.

If it's through the TAF why would the Louisiana Legislature have to approve it?

Why should taxpayers pay for this?
Bingo! They should use the profit the women’s basketball team has made over the last 10 years. Oh wait, never mind.

I agree. It is in a terrible location. I went to the LSU track stadium and looked over a saw, that is the PMAC? I was like WTF where do you park. It is land locked and you have to park near Tiger stadium or the Track Stadium and huff it to get there. You could probably fit a New PMAC south of Tiger Stadium between S. Quad and Burbank along Nicholson. There a small parking lot there and a bike or walking path there now.

Not much land around LSU left unless you start developing the hayfields by the levee, but then you will need infrastructure for connecting roads and new parking lots.

If you look at the wording it is expansive enough to cover renovations or new construction. The intention is new construction, but a lot can happen until then.

That's the $100 million they took from the Office of Public Health. The money will be much better spent on a basketball facility (he says sarcastically)!
There would be no money coming out of the current budget for this if approved. It is being financed by long term debt (bonds) which would borrow money from whomever buys the bonds and they would then be repaid over time with interest. These payments on the debt, both principal and interest, would have to be paid from current revenue or contributions.
