Bergeron had several division-one scholarship offers, but wants to play at LSU. The editor and publisher of Louisiana Football Magazine, Lee Brecheen, says Bergeron is a player who "could" get in to the mix and a player tiger fans "should" keep an eye on. Bergeron was in the same Junior College conference as Butler College, where Zach Mettenberger played before coming to LSU. Brecheen says the coach at Butler told him, after playing against Highlands that Bergeron is a better quarterback than Mettenberger.

So the walk on is better than Mett?? And isn't in the discussion for PT?

That's impressive. He coulda started at just about any SEC school if he's really that good. If he can't scramble he won't see the field at LSU. Mett was the last pure pocket passer we will see IMO

Hmm...... wonder why Cameron ran at Foster if Bergeron is so awesome? Just saying.

Can Jared Foster complete more than 7 for 61 attempts?

lol, did you completely leave out pass attempts on purpose? Looking at that, they didn't even run a similar offense and that high cmp% was because he probably threw downfield as much as Jennings did last year.

Bergeron

I truly do not understand why the majority of fans don't understand LSU has 3 QBs..

This guy is no slouch and is a decent 3rd string QB.

Of course he is not better.

But he is a very capable quarterback who had as much statiscal success as Mett in JUCO.. meaning we do have some depth.. whether fans want to believe it or not.

2008 was the worst LSU has ever been at QB

literally the 4th string QB finished the season

I guess the "Bear Bryant Rule" would come into play regarding Foster's baseball scholarship, assuming he has a piece of a baseball scholly.

Some people act like you have to be a five star QB to be any good. Several walk-ons and low ranked guys are starters and very good every year. Put Jordan Jefferson on that jUCO team and see if he can put up those stats!

Yeah OK. Let's say both Jennings and Harris go down with concussions in successive games, like Kentucky and ole miss and we need our 3rd qb to come in to secure a victory with a 3-7 point lead (or deficit for that matter). The guy that went down against Kentucky will be back for bama; does the 3rd qb matter to you at that point?

Let's not oversimplify and act like this isn't a valid concern and discussion. We are a top flight program and I would be very disappointed if our season was ruined because we didn't have a proper qb3 to come in when needed. Ideally it would be a freshmen like Harris that would have that duty but we just haven't been that successful recruiting qb's the past 7-8 years and haven't been able to secure that type of depth.

I would say in a pro-style system, the 3rd QB is no big deal, but when the first 2 QB's are mobile and run a good bit, having a 3rd QB that's not a running back is pretty important.

Jaime Howard actually was a much better QB than Loup or Daigle(No offense to those 2).
