then how about a top 10 finish to sell recruits. let me guess that doesnt matter either.

With a win in the Citrus bowl, LSU has a damn good chance of finishing in the top 10. How does that sound?

Doesn't matter. LSU never would have fallen in the polls like they did. 3 losses is more than 2 and LSU would have won H2H. Auburn would not have been ranked higher

Are you really equating a 4-8 Syracuse to a p5 program?

They are a Power 5 program.

The programs were in two completely different states, it’s a stupid comparison

It is a very good comparison. Sorry it bothers you but there is nothing you can do to change the past. You'll just have to learn to live with it.

So was the competition. That is why it is a smart comparison and makes a lot of sense.

I'll imagine it'll stop being a good comparison when we don't get to the SEC championship game in 2018, as Saban did the season following those two losses.

ULM had 4 wins on the season before beating Bama. The week before they had beaten Grambling by 7 more points than they beat Bama.

UAB had never had a winning season in division 1-A. They finished 7-4. without the win against LSU and Saban they would have finished one game over .500.

SO, YES IT IS !!!

You imagine?

Don't think Saban was dealing with a multiple NC team in the past few years and playoff team in Bama. Another playoff team the previous year in Georgia. A top 10 team the previous year in Auburn.

So, if Eaux does win the SEC next year there won't be any comparison for Saban.

I disagree. The difference in talent was the same in both losses. Nick gets a pass because of what he's done since then.

The fact that Saban lost to shitty teams in his first two years at two SEC programs doesn't make me feel better about Eaux or worse about Saban. It is what it is. There's no changing history.

sigh..... i guess i have to do it.

saban before lsu= turned the Cleveland Browns into the #1 defense in the NFL( literally #1) then took over a program coming off sanctions and finished top 10.

saban before bama= turned the Cleveland Browns into the #1 defense in the NFL( literally #1) then took over a program coming off sanctions and finished top 10 and had taken a struggling lsu program and gave them their 1st national title in 5 decades.

ED ORGERON BEFORE LSU= THE WORST TENURE EVER AT A PROGRAM FULL OF shite TENURES

the bad loss was the outlier of Saban's career.

the bad loss is what Ed Orgeron's head coaching career is built upon.

As was a crap UAB in 2000 compared to a very good and potential top-25 Troy in 2017.

No one is saying the loss was excusable but comparing the two is not apples to apples no matter how much you’d like it to be.
