NEW: Texas AD Chris Del Conte confirmed the SEC is progressing to a 9-game conference schedule by the 2026 season??

I wonder if they’ll just flip the home and Road from the 2024 season. Would like to go to Nashville & Norman.

The sec does what it wants.

The other conferences do none because their schedules aren’t as hard.

Sorry not sorry.

No, we’ll just play all the teams we don’t play in 2024 plus whoever they decide is our 1 permanent

They won’t do that because too many rivalries would be excluded.

Bama would only play one of Tennessee, Auburn, and LSU.
Georgia do they lose Auburn or Florida game?
Texas wouldn’t play either A&M or OU.
LSU schedule would only include one game against Alabama, Ole Miss, Florida, Arkansas, or Texas A&M.

It’s a play for money. They wasn’t ESPN to pay up for the extra in conference game. ESPN is playing hardball and thus it will stay at 8 until either the media rights end and are renegotiated with 9 games or sec moves to another network.

Neither side will blink is my guess and it stays 8 with a ridiculous system to please the Bama/Auburn/Tenn/UGA trash over their shite rivalry games.

1. As long as the SEC stays at 8 games, the Aggies are our permanent.

2. I think we'll play, in 2025, A&M, Texas, State, Auburn, UGA, Tennessee, UK, and Mizzou.

Ugh. You should get 3 non-conference games, and two of them have to be Power.

Cupcake has to be in-state.

Was really hoping that we would have the 9 game SEC schedule in 2025.

With a conference this big and 12 game schedules the 9 game SEC schedule makes more sense. Why is this so hard; just go ahead and do it,

More SEC, less rent-a-wins.

Why would they ever play the same 8 opponents?

Del Conte needs to shut the frick up. It’s not his conference

Texas to Death Valley in 25 and 26 because they already owe us a game.
