Just pray that Ware stays healthy. I think we have a big dropoff after him. It's not like you have three equivalent backs.

This is true and he missed some spring time because of it. I have always thought that Ford was the best pure runner we had after Ridley. Ware moved to my number one after the cotton bowl.
Ford may not be a practice guy, some players just don't look as good in practice. In games Ford has always played well.

BigEd, I dont think using dice in your avatars and sig pics relays a good message to our players and younger posters.

Everybody that doesn't think Ford will play significantly this year is a moron based on the simple fazct of the option play. Miles loves both the read and speed option and both him and JJ were money on it against Ole Miss and Arky. Miles is keeping the option and Ford and JJ will run it at least 3-5 times a game so expect 30-40 carries off that alone. Ford is at least getting 80-100 carries but we all know barring injury, Ware will be getting 200+.

Ford actually started at the scrimmage and got as many carries as Ware. Plus caught 2 passes and dropped one. Not sure where his depth chart came from. Based on Scrimmage hes solid #2 IMO

Sounds like this depth chart was extrapolated from the quote in the press conference. Why people accepted that to begin with is beyond me.

You can blame the KW fiasco on Larry Porter all you want but: FACT 1) he is no longer here, FACT 2) it is happening again to another kid.

Yes, it is happening to Ron Brooks, Karnell Hatcher, Chauncey Aguydkfjdl, Chris Davenport, etc. Miles recruited players that were better than the existing players. It happens at every position, but everyone on here complains about the running backs.

This whole thread is a moot point. So what if Miles didn't mention Ford's name. He is going to play a lot this season.

that's amazing magee number 2.
This either won't hold up by game time, or it's a Guilbeau idiot remark. We ain't playing no true freshman at the #2 TB spot.

200 carries because of how he played vs aTm?

I am amazed more and more how our fanbase is so quick to elevate players to greatness based on how they played in one game.

What if ware has a bad game against Oregon?

Does miles actually go with the "hot hand"?

I don't know that we will know if a true freshman could be a 'hot hand' or not since he has no game experience. He's doing well in practice, and good for him, but after watching LSU football and Les Miles for the last 7 years, I just don't see it happening. You could make the case for Justin Vincent, but he was pressed into action by injury. Maybe the same happens here, but it would have to be some unforseen event.

is this a joke? Couple of things come to mind....

1) why do you care at all about my avatar?

2) isn't this a site for adults?

3) with all of the negativity toward some LSU players, you really think dice are going to affect a parusing player?

4) what better image than rolling dice depicts our crazy arse "go for broke" trick play calling coach?

5) go frick yourself with a pinecone.

I don't think this is the starting rotation at RB. GG took a quote that wasn't meant to convey the starting order and assumed it was the order for the RB's. All the lineups I have seen had Ford either two or three. Ford may have dropped one spot with the emergence of an relatively unknown unhiped freshman. Consider the source!

Exactly. I push Magee harder than most, but I don't even expect him to be #2 this soon. Maybe by bowl time. I think it's assured by 2012.

Seriously, Ford actually played and contributed more during the regular season. He showed that he could be a big play back with power and speed. Ware had a nice game against aTm.

I like Ware, but what has he done in games to prove that he is a significantly better option than Ford?

Ford is a solid back and could play anywhere. Of course, Keiland was too. It would be a tragedy for Ford to be buried on the depth chart.

It wouldn't surprise me if he transferred. He has too much potential to be 4th or 5th on a depth chart.

Consistently make great runs getting yards RB's don't normally get. But I think the key is that both have looked very good in games... that is what we saw. Practice has a lot to do with pecking order. Games aren't the only time a great player can prove their worth.

Ware had around 20 carries last year and 10 were in the bowl game so how could he have shown anything consistently?
