LSU's Top 4 Backs

That doesn't leave us with a whole lot of experience, but that is one of the few positions where freshmen can make an immediate impact.

The good news is with LSU's O-line, they should have plenty of holes to run through.

Ford = Keiland Williams pt. 2. It wouldn't surprise me if he transferred. He has too much potential to be 4th or 5th on a depth chart.

He is too good of a back to not be in the top 3 rotation

They are sophomore Spencer Ware at No. 1, which has been the case since his breakout game in the Cotton Bowl, true freshman Terrence Magee at No. 2, sophomore Alfred Blue at No. 3, and sophomore Jakhari Gore at No. 4 for now.

I think Miles does this sort of thing for motivation. I bet Ford plays a lot.

"I think Ware and Magee and Blue and Gore were the ones that looked pretty good," Miles said of the closed scrimmage. "Those four, I thought they looked good. It's kind of who's got the hot hand a little bit, and right now it would be those four."

Damn, Magee just got on campus. What is he, a Justin Vincent clone or something.

I know it would suck on his part, but if he was to transfer he should look at McNeese. He would be a beast in the SLC.

I bet he doesn't see much (meaningful) playing time. Am I the only one who just wasn't in awe of Blue? But then again, what the hell do I know? They seem the players everyday at practice and whatnot.

That's what I was thinking.

I knew this thread couldn't go one page without someone calling him a beast. Seems like everyone is a beast nowadays.

Sounds like it was his own fault. Didn't finish runs strong per Les and had to miss practice to focus on academics.

it sounds a lot like motivation for Ford.

especially bc of the quote about him just not finishing.

and yeah i wasn't as impressed by blue as the others, but again i'm not questioning it or proclaiming i know anything.

We'll see. I absolutely love Spencer Ware being #1, but as far as Blue being up there over Ford... that's another case of Miles favoring power over speed. Annoying to say the least.

You have to take GG with a grain of salt.

Don't be suprised if Magee is the 2 back sooner than later though. I doubt he will come close to Vincents freshman campaign, simply because I see Ware getting the lions share, but don't be suprised if Magee actually develops into what we all that JV would be after '03.

Ford is currently a liability in pass protection.

Looked like it last year. Plus his speed didn't seem to translate into the best running style(yet)....as Miles described, "not finishing." Plus, classroom issues equal effort and commitment issues(most of these players aren't taking 18 hours of 4000 level courses). I'll go with the coaches on their pecking order. Hope he gets it together and contributes.
