Travinski isn’t much different than Jones. He had a good streak and was terrible down the stretch. Seems like a great teammate but not starting 9 based on what I’ve seen. But a lot can happen in a year

Your an idiot dude hit close to .300 with 14 bombs and was a freshman All-American but because of a couple
Games in Cape your saying he won’t start......Idiot

That’s just wrong. Dude was crushing the ball all the way through the regionals until he was injured. He was literally starting 9 on a championship team.

ETA: Downvoters clearly aren't paying attention to what's going on with Jones in the Cape right now.

He can mash and I have faith that Johnson will have him crushing offspeed next year.

Travinski will jack 20+ bombs next year if he comes back, may be DH, with Neal catching.

That better not be our 3-4-5. First off, there is no way he is holding Tommy White until five. Second, he needs to get a couple of stud hitter from the portal or we will struggle next year.

He slashed .304/.426/.640 as a true freshman with 14 HR and 45 RBI in 55 games in the toughest conference in the country.

That was his overall stats. much of which he picked up prior to SEC Play.

His SEC stats were .259/.375 /.459 with 5 HR and 19 RBI in 25 SEC games.

By comparison, JT was .254/.371/.518 with 7 HR and 26 RBI in 29 SEC games.

He is 100% hitting in the middle of the order on opening day.

The real question is where will he be hitting come SEC play. He stays there if he fixes his problem with breaking/off-speed stuff. Otherwise, he does not.

I think it's a little presumptuous to just slot Jones into the lineup next season.
Dude hit over .300 with 14 jacks as a true freshman and played about half the games. He will improve. I think it's idiotic to think he won't be in the lineup

Jones won't be in the line up until he learns to hit the off speed. If you can't understand that, sorry you don't know ball.

I think he's idiotic to think you know who's in the lineup when 50% of the team will be new. And again the question is will he be in the lineup when it matters during conference, not whether he starts there.

The reason Jones was benched was that we were the most loaded offensive team in the country. If he played for any other team he would have kept starting and finished with 20+ homers. We were in the unique situation to have the ability to sit him and play another stud which almost no other team could have done. Honestly the same could have been said about Kling to a lesser extent. They just happen to play for one of the only teams deep enough to bench them.

Is Beloso back? He wasn’t listed on the draft thread.

He signed with AARP.

To the rest of this thread, as usual, the truth is in the middle. Yes, be concerned with Jones hitting breaking stuff. And it is not that he is 0-8. It is the 7 SO that should be of notice.

Having said that, the dude was a true fr. And LSU happens to have the best coach in the country.

Relax and allow things to play out.
