Ordered by the strongest average RPI of the top 3 teams that a national seed could face prior to Omaha:
UNC (1): 18
Virginia (6): 19
Vandy (2): 19
Oregon (8): 20
CSF (5): 21
Florida State (7): 21
LSU (4): 22
Oregon State (3): 27

Takeaway: UNC was dealt a hand harder than expected, Florida State has it easier.

Ordered by the highest ranked (RPI) foe in their path:
Oregon (8): 7
Virginia (6): 10
LSU (4): 11
Florida State (7): 12
UNC (1): 13
CSF (5): 15
Vandy (2): 16
Oregon State (3): 17

Takeaway: Again, UNC slightly tougher draw than anticipated as an overall #1.

This doesn't take into account everything, like when a team such as Arkansas is playing much better of late than its RPI.

Oregon is fd. If rice doesnt knock them out of their own regional, state will beat them in the supers.

A team with a 6-10 record against top 50 rpi opponents making it to the CWS? Lol

wow, I did not realize Oregon did that poorly vs top 50 RPI. The PAC12 and George Horton fascination must explain it.

Here's everyone else's record vs Top 50 RPI, for comparison:

UNC (1) "25-8"
Vandy (2) "24-5"
Oregon State (3) "12-7"
LSU (4) "28-8"
CSF (5) "12-4"
Virginia (6) "19-9"
Florida State (7) "14-15"
Oregon (8) "6-10"

and a couple more:
NCSU "18-10"
Miss St "21-15"
VTech "13-15"
USCe "11-14"
Arkansas "16-15"
