bowl prep will put a lot of focus on the young guys, who by the time of the bowl game, will no longer be "freshman"

Beckwith, Jefferson, obviously White and Robinson, Lacouture and Bower specifically

can't wait to see the future of the tigers on jan. 1

One thing Auburn did this year was play a lot of young guys and it ended up working out great for them. They started the season out an average team at best but once those talented freshmen started to figure things out they got better and better. Now they look really good and will have experienced players next year. I really wish we had did more of that.

i think we are experiencing the rotation of a less than stellar recruiting class with depth from a couple of years ago. Reinforcements are here and it will show next year imo

Jennings aside, I expect Lacouture to make a name for himself in this game. It won't be as visible, because that's not the job of LSU DT's but I expect him to blow up that Iowa FB a couple of times.

ETA: agreed, they're not freshman anymore! Can't say enough about how important this practice time is too.

I get the extra practice time, but what makes you think this will translate into playing time?

And since you mention Beckwith, I'm assuming you are referring to the DE position.

I think the defense really improved throughout the year and we did have a few young players step up..Robinson , white , hunter , locinture (spelling)and Jefferson but I agree if you look back the 2011 and 2012 recruiting classes didn't turn out to be as deep as I thought they would be...some really good players stepped up but after the great jr escape of a year ago that was the nfl draft ,it really thinned us out...
