I saw Joey Belle put one in a boxcar. Probably didn’t stop until Memphis.

I saw a LOT of Joey's HR's in person. However, the longest ball I ever saw hit was Craig Faulkner in '83 or '84 at Florida. There was a parking lot between the baseball field and the Swamp and he hit that ball over half way across the parking lot. It was easily 550'-600' in the air...an absolute monster. Chewy was still a little pissed that UF passed on him after JUCO.

No one talks about strike outs when he launches one over the scoreboard, or hits 4 hrs in a row, or 7 RBIs in a game.

Sounds like you were a player, manager or coach.

The ball Deichmann hit with a dead bat and unfavorable ball is the most impressive one I think I’ve ever seen. That ball goes 500+ today.

I saw Zinsman’s homer at Northwestern. Straight down right field line and didn’t hook one inch. Damndest home run I’ve ever seen.

I wish someone had a link to this. If it’s the one I’m thinking of it’s hard not to watch without laughing. Nothing special happens just absolutely smacks the ball out of sight on a laser rope, looks ridiculous.

That would have to be about 700 ft. Nah.

I don’t think the 91 bats with raised seamed balls is that much different than BBCOR plus flat seamed balls like Deichmann hit wirh. Those BBCOR bats were not regulated as hard as today but the balls are definitely not the same.

That’s why I listed Mouton and Deichmann’s as my 2. Jim Bowie hit a monster as well.

One of my all time favorite hitters. Many say the GOAT.
Here is what a man at 42 did to a baseball on a cold day with the wind blowing in. It is about 420. Wish he didn’t miss 6 years in his prime to fly planes in WWII and Korea. LINK
