Must have hit it around the world… Tiger stadium sat behind the old Alex Box.

I was there. Deichman could peel the cover off the ball.

Pretty sure you’re thinking of a first basemen we had in the 80’s named Jim Bowie…he hit one of the longest I’ve ever seen. Belle hit one off Miami in Rosenblatt that was crushed.

One day at practice Coach Bertmam was hitting grounders to the infield. He suddenly says, “Hey guys watch this.” He tosses the ball up, grips the bat and hauls off and jacks one out over the right field fence that looks as though it will never come down. As the sails into the deep blue yonder; I spied Mike bust out of his cage with a fielders glove in his mouth heading toward Tiger Stadium. Mike runs up the side of the stadium, climbs the flag poles at the top of the NEZ, stands upright on his tippy claws while flipping the glove onto his paw and caught Coach Bertman’s screaming moon shot. True story.

I'm relatively certain Deichman would be a thirty home run hitter in this lineup

Home plate to the closest point across Chaplin Lake is 700 feet. I don’t think that happened
