the kid had professional dreams. Nobody, I'm assuming JJ and himself included, thought him coming to LSU was realistic.
quote:Speculation based on have 3 different agents in as many months, his number apparently being larger than 1.7, and Cleveland signing every single top 10 pick they selected the last ten years. The odds aren’t on Cleveland being the issue here.
something happened between him and the guardians, causing him not to be signed. Whether it be his fault, his agents, the Guardians, or a combination is 100% pure speculation.
quote:Ah. So your “speculation” is worth more than everyone else’s. Cool.
This is my guess....but I would assume JJ wanted to get him on campus and doing so would take a sum of money he hadn't expected would be needed. If JJ couldn't come up with the money then it would make no sense at all for him to not go JC and re enter the draft. JJ came up with an amount that made it make sense, while also selling him on the amount he could make in 3 years.

Serious question.
Are you his boyfriend?
Why do 100% of the boards biggest morons go to gay claims, or something political, every single time their stupidity is pointed out?
It must be a Low IQs last stand argument that they think will take the heat of themselves. "Yeah, I made an arse of myself in this thread but you are gay, or a liberal."

So he is not unique. But then proceeds to point out how it is unique.

It's absolutely not. But when I am making a guess, it is simply a guess. I could have gone your route and spoke in absolutes, about my speculations.

Anyone who isn't excited about this is insane or just being hardheaded. Isn't Schmidt is the highest rated HS prospect to ever make to LSU campus? Especially considering he's a three year player.
Yes, it might now work out. There's no way to guarantee the future. Obviously he could just transfer out next year. But still. A consensus overall top ten national recruit coming isn't a bad thing.
All hyperbole aside, is he the highest rated player we've ever landed?

Because everything you have said is nonsense, stupid, and completely bereft of any intelligence
I’m trying to figure out your angle here. You aren’t making it easy, so I’m grasping at straws.

Quote all of the things I said that make you say this. I haven't hesitated to point out what I was pointing out that you said.

quote:You used the qualifiers, not me.
So he is not unique.
quote:Yes. Him and his agent fricking up is definitely unique. Him wanting to be a pro and making tons of money isn’t. It’s just when most don’t hit their number, they are prepared to honor their commitments. They either announce close to the draft or, like many others, during the draft. He wasn’t prepared. That’s on his agent as much as him.
proceeds to point out how it is unique.
quote:I said I thought he should go Juco. I never once said what he’d actually do. If he wanted to be here, he would have announced it when he realized they couldn’t reach his number. That’s still true. Even you admit as much with your speculation… that he needed money first before he agreed to anything.

Nothing wrong with someone weighing all options if they have time it’s a pretty big decision. I personally struggle picking between two places I’d like to pick food up from much less making life altering decisions like that lol.

You have said he only had 2 days to decide before we all attacked him. He has had months to prepare for this.
You have said he had other options but those are worse than the ones I said.
Meanwhile you constantly have called me some form of stupid.
You think we are all being too hard on the kid and you are personally calling us names.
It makes no sense unless you are attached to this kid.

That’s where the agent is supposed to come in. Everyone agrees on a number. That number is shared with teams. If it’s not met, you have option B ready. It’s not a “decision” that takes place in the moment. The plan is supposed to be there. Usually, it’s a player coming down on their number during draft day talks where a kid chooses pro ball over college. That’s where the swings happen. And we always see kids announce the day or two before or even during the draft that they’ve chosen school. It’s a decision that’s been ready for a long time based on the bonus the couldn’t get. Like I said, his agent fricked up royally either lying to him, lying to teams, or simply not understand his client’s wants. Either way, Logan wasn’t prepared for Cleveland not having enough to pay him what he wanted.

Who is? Genuine question. I know you just default to be being condensing and assume everyone else is being a dick as well.
If Schmidt isn't, he has to be very high on that list, right?

William Schmidt
And yes. Logan is very high.
ETA: Curiel was top 20 as well. It’s obviously subjective. But D1, PG, and BA all had William has the top 1/2 RHP and top 5-12 overall.

That's what he does he calls people names and bashes people. He can't help himself. Go look at his post history and tell me i'm wrong. .

I looked up Curiel before originally posting. I thought it was him prior but it looks like Logan was slightly higher. Splitting hairs between the three.
And yes, very subjective depending on the source. Either way, I'm happy to get another top ten prospect.
I'm willing to give the teenager the benefit of the doubt of a few days to make a final decision. It' s also possible the the delay was on our side trying to account for NIL money. I'm assuming we were not prepared for this development.

You are wrong. I call YOU a dumb arse because you are a dumbass. So is the other moron in this thread.
I don't agree with Ell on this, but notice how I haven't called him a dumbass? Its because he isn't one. He's a a-hole, that acts like he knows it all sometimes, but same can be said about me. I'd rather call a spade a spade, even if it includes myself.
You are a total moron, but get your feelings hurt bc I tell you the truth. Thats not my problem, and I couldn't care less about your feelings.

What’s interesting is all three have been in last several years.

I’m definitely an a-hole. Would never deny it. Less so these days tbh. But hand up. Guilty.

There was no such thing when guys like Ben or Belle made it to campus. I’m sure they would have been way up there.
