The thing is that Hess might actually be BEST as a closer. That,however, doesnt make him ill equipped to be a starter.

Can you imagine a pitcher like Lange being an SEC closer?!? It'd be fricking filthy!

Do you remember John fricking Smoltz being a closer for the braves? He set THE FRANCHISE SAVES RECORD!

However when a guy has starter stuff, like hess does then you start him. We were fortunate last year to have the arms to save him for the closing role. That doesnt come around often.

So instead of pissing on making him a starter be thankful that you have him because most teams would fricking love him
