The order of the lineup can greatly influence that. We had 8 hits and 5 walks in game 1, but only scored 1.
So Jones in the lead off and Curiel in cleanup is the solution? I mean..I’m open to try things, but sometimes the opponent has really great pitching and you have to hope you have better pitching. At this point in the season I’d really like to have a consistent lineup and just fight thru the offensive slumps. Maybe I’m wrong and we’ll break out today..hopefully

The inability to score runs isn’t because of where guys are hitting…it’s because guys aren’t hitting. And guys aren’t failing to hit because of where they are hitting.
Incorrect, LSU outhit A&M in both games 14 to 9 and scored less runs 3 to 4. It’s not hitting champ.

LSU fans are a hoot. Our coach has won a national championship and now has LSU in prime position to get a national seed and to host a regional.
With his team in the midst of a hitting slump, he’s mixing his line-up a bit. It’s kind of part of the job description for a coach, you know, to make adjustments from time to time.
Jay has LSU as the number 2 team in the country. He’s earned the benefit of the doubt on basic coaching decisions.

I guess Aggie should demote all their starters and fire their hitting coach.

There is no way Jay Johnson knows how to construct a lineup better than random couch potatoes on the Rant!

I’m all for letting the coach do his job.
I do wonder why early in the season we played so much “small ball” bunting, and making things happen, but now it seems like we are not doing that.

I 100 percent agree…but you gotta admit Jones at leadoff and Curiel in cleanup smacks of throwing spaghetti at the wall and hoping something sticks. If a rantard suggested this lineup after game 1 you’d have called him a retard.

stupid
LSU has the best leadoff hitter in college baseball and he is moved to 4th.
The entire premise of having Jones bat early is to get him more at bats, and that theory is thrown out the window by moving Curiel where Jones should be. This really goes against decades of batting orders by the best managers ever.

Yes let's put the strike out king at 1st bat....

Jones has struck out 49 times and one of the slowest players leading off the makes no sense

He’s trying to find a mix to string some hits together. As said, we had 8 hits Friday with 13 total baserunners and only managed to score a run.

Jared Jones leading off makes 0 sense to me, but he’s the coach, not me

Stanfield needs to sit. This lineup needs some punch. Put Pearson in LF, Curiel in CF, and Brown in RF, then platoon Frey and Larson at DH.
