Hatch looked like Flynn but runs better
Huh???

you are fricking retarded if you think Hatch is anywhere near as good as Flynn. Flynn had the arm to make all the throws. Hatch does not.

jlsutiger,
You might want to go watch the reply on Hatch and Lee today. I just did because I don't remember many throws to players feet. There was indeed 2 but both were by Lee.
Hatch tried to force 2 balls to Dickson. That was about his worst mistakes. He did not make any long throws except one early that Byrd got knocked off his route. Overall I thought he played well and did what he was supposed to do and control the game with no mistakes
Lee was a little shaky, made some good, some poor throws. Anyone could of thrown his long pass for a TD to lafell. Hw was so open you could of made it to him end over end. His biggist problems were some throws into coverage when he was fooled and not controling the game as well. In other words looking like a quarterback taking his first snaps in a college game.
Lee might have a better upside, but so did RP over Fynn. No mistakes is what we need and get the ball when needed to the right people.
Danny Werfull had a noodle for an arm but somehow managed to throw for a ton of yards. Smarts and poise are more important than arm strenght in college.
I think both will get better but till Lee learns to look off a reciver and read the defense better we are a much better team RIGHT NOW with Hatch.

You guys can rag on Jlsutiger all you want, but the man speaks the truth. I think a quadriplegic could put more zip on some of those balls he threw. It was pretty sad. Hatch's arm is almost as strong as that third string quarterback for Appy State, Stewart or whatever his name was.
Nevertheless, I think Hatch is the best option at this point in time because he's a pretty good runner(but not nearly as smart or shifty as Flynn).

The only reason Hatch is playing more than Lee is because Lee has missed half the fall practices with injuries.
The staff knows the future of the program lies in Jared Lee's right arm.
Hatch is a smart QB. He made solid reads and did well in the short passing game, but the guy was not blessed with a SEC arm. He can't throw the deep rout, and against a good SEC team he will have trouble with intermediate routes. This will make our offense much more one dimensional.
In my honest opinion we will go through a few growing pains this year, and next year will be the year of the tiger.

Flynn was a pretty good QB, but its stupid to say that he was "so much better" than the guys we have now.
They are 2nd and 3rd year guys. Flynn was 5th year. Lee is a better passer and overall player at this point than Flynn was. Hatch is not much, if any, worse than Flynn was as a SOPH. The only thing Flynn did alot better than Hatch was throw a decent deepball, but we had VERY few last season. Lee is a much better passer than Flynn was at this stage, but he showed he's still very young.
I think Lee needs to get 60% of the snaps in the next few games. We know what Hatch can do. He wont get much better or worse. That said, Lee has a chance to REALLY improve.

He was good when he was healthy. Had a couple of 300+ yard games passing, if I recall correctly and our offense moved well for the most part.
I'd describe Marcus Randall as a notch above terrible before I would Flynn.

lee threw a 10 yard pass to dickson that went 5 yards to the side off his hands. he threw one interception. he almost threw another. and about the one interception he did throw when he was going to lafell.....if u pause it when it happens youll see that even if the linebacker hadnt been there at all to intercept, the ball was thrown way behind our receiver anyways.

When did Flynn become an all-american? Flynn was a better leader but his second start was as a fifth year senior. In that second start threw for 140 yards passing, not exactly spectacular.
I can see if you are comparing arm strength to JR, but Flynn. Flynn never had great arm strength. These guys have the potential to be just as good as Flynn, or better.

Yes you did.

I meant his coolness under the pressure of starting, the decisions he made, managing the game reminded me of Flynn.
Why didn't you say this in the 1st place to avoid confusion.

Same guy that's now the #2 QB in Green Bay ... yeah, I'd say he's pretty terrible.

If I'm not mistaken, Hatch led LSU to 17 points on their 1st 3 possessions. Then the QB derby began where you never knew who was going to be on the field. Had Miles not rotated QBs the rest of the game, I believe that Hatch's numbers would have been more consistent.
