Maybe now the piped in rap crap music will die a slow painful death.

BK isn't coming to LSU for a 5 year contract, so the question remains "What would you have done?"

People are acting like this was on the table Sexton put a stranglehold on LSU during this hire. 10 years @ 10M/yr or we stay at ND.
Never take a stance in a negotiation you aren't willing to back. It's not like 10 year contracts are the norm, especially for 65 year olds. Kelly was ready to leave Notre Dame. If he didn't like a 5 year contract, shake hands and say thanks for your time.
Hell, you could even negotiate that second 5 years as being guaranteed as long as certain criteria are met. Either way, you don't give someone 10 years guaranteed for something you should be able to prove in less than half that.
In a negotiation, you're not required to accept the other person's terms.
And what did Sexton have to do with this? This was between Kelly, Armstrong, and Woodward.

And with that logic Woodward would've been fired much earlier for the perceived botching of an LSU football hire.
Every booster wouldve been calling for his head. Heck the cheap option was Billy Napier at the time. Kelly was putting in a quarter of the effort and still out performing Billy.
Woodward's skill going in was he was able to "seal the deal" getting solid hires no matter the challenge including money. It's unfortunate his weak hire was in football

LSU Athletics is SO much more than just football in this day and age.
LSU the brand has grown exponentially under Scott. No one else even comes close to what we’ve built.
Many of yall are just too fricking stupid to realize this.

It's not like 10 year contracts are the norm. For brand new coaches, Woodward is pretty much the only AD to have ever signed the coach to one.
Hell, if the AD offers bigger and longer contracts than anyone else, that doesn't make him a good negotiator...it makes him an idiot.
If 10 year contracts were the norm, your argument would hold water, but they are not.
I'm not even saying I disliked Woodward as an AD. He excelled at certain aspects of the job, but he did a horrible job negotiating Kelly's contract.

What a damned shame!
We won't find a better one IMO.

Kelly has made bad hires at the offensive line coach position and the previous defensive coordinator position
Who has Kelly hired as the OLine coach? Because Davis was here before Kelly got hired. And something tells me he wasn’t allowed to get rid of him.
