Does next years LSU basketball team look like Bruce Pearls team this year...He was the darling of the SEC last year and they don't look so good now. I hope and think TJ will do better next year than the Vols have done this year, though I expect a somewhat down year due to graduation. Could it be that Bruce Pearl and Trent Johnson just inherit good teams, or are they good coaches? In all honesty I guess the verdict will be out for some time, but I feel good about our coach and I couldn't really say that in previous years.

I think UT's team this year and our team next year are gonna have different expectations. This year's UT was predicted to have a very good season. They really only lost Lofton. However, next year we are going to be really young and we will lose several key players. I don't look for us to have the same lofty expectations that UT had this year

Ok, if it was just due to the fact that the team is/was good, then Brady being coach wouldn't have mattered and we'd have still won.

TJ is a good coach.

TJ is a good coach but LSU will struggle. The league will be better/more experienced. LSU will be one of the least experienced teams in the league. The difference between LSU and Tennessee will be that LSU is going to schedule really soft. Tennessee scheduled tough. I think we will see another soft schedule for LSU

He inherited the same team Brady had minus an NBA lottery pick. Please stop this nonsense.

TJ did not inherit a bad team. That is nonsense. He inherited a team with a bad record but did not inherit a bad team. He inherited an two SEC POY candidates in Taz Mitchell and Marcus Thornton. A senior defensive specialist who has played in some monster games. He has done a great job with the team but they were picked to win the west before the season. He does deserve credit for bringing order to this bunch and actually coaching them

I would take the season Tennessee is having right now for LSU next year in a heartbeat. Tennessee is going to make the NCAA tournament, barring a complete meltdown. For next year, considering what we will lose, just making the Dance will be a success.

My point is that Johnson is proving he is a good coach. He took the same team minus an NBA caliber player, and is getting them to play to their potential, which is what a good coach does. They all know the X's and O's, a good coach will teach them to win under stressfull situations. LSU is winning every game down the stretch right now.

If he slips next year, we will simply have to wait for his future recruits to arrive and develop.

So Anthony Randolph is not an NBA caliber player? Kind of hard to believe, since he is currently in the NBA. He is no longer at LSU, so that would mean that the current team is "minus" him.

you don't think that LSU fans are gonna have high expectations next year?

I know what you are saying. Realistically, we should have more modest expectations next year considering our experience level, but when have our fans been realistic?

Trent Johnson is gonna lock up a top 5 class after he gets us to the sweet 16 and thats what will keep us on the way up.

Of course I do. We can twist it however you want. The fact remains that this team is minus an NBA player.

You could say that it is minus an NBA player and plus a possible NBA player who was hurt last year. That would also be a factual statement.

I think it will be more like Arkansas. I think we'll more than 1 or 2 games in conference but we will very young next year and who knows. With just a few exceptions Arkansas has been in most games but don't have the experience to get the tough win. I'm hoping for a good team next year but right now I'll just enjoy the product on the court.
