Skenes will not pitch before Saturday.

If weather or something happens and we play Friday, maybe.

We are not throwing Skenes on two days short rest.

Yes, MLB guys pitch on 4 rest days. They are MLB guys who are getting paid to do so. And, they are used to that.

Pitching Skenes on Wed/Thurs, esepcially with our recent "history" of pitching injuries, is a great way to scare future great pitchers away from LSU.

No Thursday game unless they win Tuesday and Wednesday; extremely unlikely to happen.

You people are idiots. This guys going to be a top 3-5 draft pick, maybe #1 overall. Yeah let’s pitch him with three days rest so he can wreck his career. Some of you would be fine with that so long as dem tigahs ride and win

Completely agree. It would ulitimately be up to Skenes and his people. I personally don’t think you’ll see him til Saturday.

Skenes has pitched on 5 days rest twice this season. 4 days of rest used to be the MLB standard. It’s not negligent to throw him on Thursday.

And good luck keeping the ball from him if LSU makes it to Thursday.

Part of every pitcher's routine to get ready for the next start is a bullpen session

So... instead of throwing in the bullpen... why not throw an inning or 2 of relief in place of his regular bullpen session if we're in a dire situation?

Skenes gets one more game and that's it. It makes no sense to throw him Thursday.

We need a Herculean effort from the offense

This exactly.
I have no doubt that when this is discussed most people have it in their mind that the plan is to say F it and have him throw another 120 on 4 days rest.. When the reality is if you can get 60-70 pitches/4-5 good innings out of him you’re in a damn strong position to win a game against anybody with the way our bullpen has been executing.

Edited to say there is a lot of ground to make up for this team before this even becomes a discussion.

People are stuck on Skenes not pitching until Saturday because they are inherent losers. They are debby downers. Used to losing. It's only natural for them to think the best player on the team won't be able to play again, and we'll be knocked out without him throwing another pitch. They're used to losing, so they have a mindset they're going to lose, so they don't get dissappointed all the time like they're used to.

To the "it will be up to Paul" crowd... even more so LOL if you think he's going to tell coach Nah i don't want the ball. You haven't been paying attention to the type of competitor he is. Jay Johnson would have to lock him in the hotel room for him not to demand the ball Thursday.

Wake will throw Lowder on the same amount of rest. Promise. It's win or go home, get a grip people

I doubt we see him outside anything but short relief if they make it to 2 games against WF. They might use him out of the bullpen for a 9th ending close. That's about the most you'll see him. outside that, probably won't see him at all until saturday.

I think he's a guy who's setup to be perfectly fine on 4 days rest but LSU is not going to risk that guy's career to win a few baseball games.

I'm sorry but it's time to go full Ohtani. Nothing to lose.

Crews
White
Morgan
Skenes

LFG

He won't get a UCL injury swinging the bat. Worse case and very unlikely he pulls a muscle swinging and is out for a couple weeks after the season. Won't affect LSU or his future
