You pumpers can sit here and talk about 5.5 yards per carry blah blah blah.
Noone is complaining about taking advantage of an effective running game. What we are complaining about is lack of imagination and telegraphing our plays. You can run the ball a million different ways. But Les continues to use toss dive after toss dive out of the power I formation.
Create some space. Be deceptive. Create mismatches. That doesn't make you a pussy, its just smart football. How many yards per carry do you think Oregon or auburn would have if they lined up in the power I and did the toss dive every play?
Who knows, if we did those things we might be going for 7.5 yards per carry.

Maybe enough to beat a FCS team at home?

So you think continuing to run into a 10 man box, when everyone in the stadium knows where you are going, creates some kind of advantage?
Please enlighten me
Yea we won tonight, barely, but you think that was the best run D we will face?

Woah killer calm down. Was just saying there is 2 alternative outcomes if you switch the offense up.

Absolutely and this has ben the main reason for lSU losing big games under Miles. It appears both Miles and Cameron are too lazy or too 70s to try different things and they rely on defense to bail them out.

Field position in the 2nd half was awful last night and the running game including D. Williams was pretty effective.
Les was not going to allow Harris to lose the game and it was apparent that Harris' arm was not going to win it for us.

Thanks for clearing that up.

And yes, IMO, that means we should've attacked their secondary more. But I'm not a little bitch and I'll take the W.

Unbelievable statement. How was it clear that Harris' arm was not going to win it for us?

Considering Oregon lost AGAIN, in a big game, and Auburn's offense looked like hot garbage because they let their rookie QB keep throwing the ball, maybe better outcomes for both.

Actually, I'm not sure if you're trying to be facetious but LSU had a great deal of success running out of the I last night -- even with 10 in the box.
The problem is that pitch dive play when they spread the offense out to feign a pass.
If LSU wants to be a run team then act like it. Run out of the I with jumbo packages AND install a triple option rush attack.
Otherwise, feigning the pass leads to what we've seen -- 20 to 25% less plays than the opponent, epic streaks of 3 and outs that wears OUR D down.
Now if they actually start throwing the ball out of those formations -- which there hasn't been any evidence to suggest it lately, you could see a nasty run attack with a confused opposing D.
I will just hope for the best...
