still a lot up in the air...if we get Alexandria and Hawkins back, the OL will be very strong next year....rec's will be better, and LF will be a beast....qb still gonna be Achilles IF Jennings stays the starter....he has limited growth potential. The defense will be very good. I'd like to get Robinson back, not sure if he is kicked off or what.

So, yes we outplayed Bama this year and yes they did get some help to beat us.

To be the best you have to beat the best. I don't want to have to depend on other teams falling off to get in. CLM has to find a way to beat Bama, and to not lose to everyone else. The talent is here now. Since CLM isn't going anywhere he has to come through. There will be no excuse for losing more than 1 game next season

It's not what bama does it's what LSU does. We have now put all the emphasis on that one game (it's our best prepared and played game) . And we screw up somewhere before (Uf in 2012, uga\UM in 2013). Until CLM changes the approach (dominate the opponent instead of just out athlete them) to each game, getting into the playoff is a moot point.

I'm not giving up on the OL for next year even if LSU loses both players. Concerned...hell yes. They have all been in Grimes scheme for a year and are purported to be good players.

This is a very twisted and weak way of also saying that Alabama will never miss the playoffs by beating us either.....and you've accepted it as a perpetual, foregone conclusion. Do you know what you are saying here?

Never said anything about Bama making/ not making anything. You're reading more into the OP than was intended.

Wrong! If OSU beats Wisconsin they were going to jump MSU. No way in hell a one loss conference champion gets left out over a 1 loss non-champ.

IMO, if Baylor beats K-State they're in. That Va. Tech loss will haunt OSU. The team Baylor lost to (W. Virginia) is still right-side up in their conference and has a slightly better overall record than Va. Tech. Also, they are already seeded higher than OSU. The conference as a whole has let OSU down.

Mississippi State would not have made it this year over a TCU 1 loss conference champion. You are fooling yourself if you think they were a lock.

Nah.

In 2011 2 SEC teams made the top 2. I know it was the BCS and this is the committee but how much will that really change things?

There are many, many examples of 1-loss teams (especially SEC teams) who didn't win their own division let alone conference finishing the reg season in the top 4. I don't expect that will change just because it's a committee now.

What else is there to read into???
quote:

With the new CFP format, losing to Bama cannot and will not ever knock us out of making the final 4 by itself. In 2014 the losses to MSU, Aub, and Ark were what did us in.

If you use your head, there is a lot you are saying here, without really saying it.

You make a lot of assumptions/implications.

-By saying that the Bama could still be an automatic loss, but there's still hope.....you are revealing your soft fuzzy lil' underbelly by saying that you accept losing to them them.
Debunk that, please.

-By conceding the alabama game, while we are only a one-loss team, you make the assumption Alabama is REALLY good, too, if they perpetually beat us....you know this right? So by using your pretzel logic, you may as well lump Alabama into that playoff top 4 too. But you concede to them again, right? Debunk that, please.

- While you're at it; would you mind giving us some more 'ifs and buts'? This way you can give me the 5 make-or-break plays that (if executed properly) could have saved us against Auburn.

If you expected Miles to fight as hard as you do on the rant, we'd be undefeated.

- By saying that we could still beat Arky MSU Auburn and remain the top four means that you think we could go undefeated after you have conceded the Bama game......NO shite Einstein. That's a one loss SEC team. No one has denied a one loss SEC team wouldn't make it. You make this sound like it's news. You have a funny way of stating the obvious to the point where we think you just now figured out that a one loss SEC team would make it, while accepting losing to Alabama. Do you understand that or are you reading more into the reply than was intended?

You guys are as good as anybody even this season. You could have potentially beaten any team you played this season. I expect LSU to be the class of the SEC West next season.

Even with only 8 returning starters?

I'm a realist as they come but the schedule sets up very nicely for a run.

Get past Miss St and Auburn in the first 4 weeks and we could build the momentum for something special.

I don't think Ole Miss will be as good as this season, Bama loses a heck of a lot of their core, and Arkansas is at home.

One loss no longer removes anyone from the final 4. Hell, 3 of the 4 teams who will make it this year will be 1-loss teams, and there's a chance that all 4 will be 1-loss teams.

The only thing the OP pointed out is that despite all the talk lately on the Rant of Bama being a roadblock to us winning it all, the game with them is actually irrelevant to our national title hopes as long as we win the other 11. It's like our fanbase is hung up on this one game/opponent, and I'm just pointing out they really don't have the power people think they do.

Nobody is conceding a loss to anyone. Nobody is assuming Bama will beat us. It's called a hypothetical scenario, which last I checked was still allowed. Don't insert words into my post that aren't there.

I don't think you read a thing that I just said, but I now deem it a waste of time to try to argue with you.

Your idea of a 'hypothetical scenario' is just that, but with a lot of criteria.

Where where you in the "Time of Unspeakable Darkness (Hallman/Dinardo)"? We needed you to say:

"Hey, if we win the following,

AU
UA
Tenn
UGA
Ole Miss
MSU and then maybe
UF
Then Ole Miss will stop scheduling us for their Homecoming........champnchip"

OSU will have played 1 more game against a quality opponent. 12 wins vs 11 wins. I believe the loss to va tech was also the first start for the second string qb for OSU. The committee said they would take injuries into consideration. OSU loss was to a P5 team and I don't think Baylor played a P5 team out of conference.

So now our sunshine pumping idiot fans are conceding one loss a year. Jesus.

"It's not about winning championships. It's about being in the hunt"

Good to see that Miles and Alleva's pathetic attitudes have filtered down that far. I mean Christ, it's not like we are even acknowledging that Bama is a possible loss every year. This moron and others just wanna give it up.

You have no way of knowing that. It may not in some cases, but it very well could in others.

I did read your post. And all I'm saying is, it's a good thing Oregon didn't have your attitude about Arizona. Or Alabama about Ole Miss. Or TCU about Baylor. Because if they did, they'd have thought those losses would have kept them out of the CFP.
