I've easily answered this before by the way. No CBB MBB coach gets fired in-season. That's silly.

I am easily on LSU MBB success and fandom. All the rest is nonsense.

I do know a prominent basketball booster very well and while that's not the reason I feel fairly certain he won't get fired, he likes CMM and I can tell you he's not in Scott's ear to fire him.

I just don't see this groundswell to oust CMM at any level other than a few posters here and Scott hired the guy so he's not in any hurry unless he feels some pressure - and it ain't there.

I mean I'll throw it to you drizz....do you think Scott is going to fire him at or near the end of this season?

Hey Ugly, this is exactly what I was asking, thanks. I can see every part of it.

I've been looking for this too. This is what I have gathered from what I have heard, but please feel free to tell me where I am wrong because this is third-hand periphery info. Football and baseball have a large engaged booster base with diverse opinions (or so I have heard about both). That means some guys are there for all sorts of reasons and the coach's personality, while not unimportant, is not (seemingly) as important as it seems to be with the smaller numbers of basketball boosters.

It is partially why Brady was cut loose so fast after what I considered an excellent run as a head coach taking over a program on probation. McMahon has exactly the personality that those boosters seem to favor, particularly the Brown contingent who like a more measured demeanor (personally I like a respectful but sometimes petty winning demeanor ). I am unsure how much Woody takes all that into consideration but I am certain he has to at least give them some lip service.

I have no idea what Scott is going to do.

This is true. While it can sometimes be frustrating to the fan in me, I think in the modern social media age it is the only smart way to operate.

Alleva was and still is a POS. The worst.

He cost a Duke Lacrosse team a national title based on a made up allegation by a "stripper".

I'm likely to tune out next season if we pretend it's all good.

No you will not.

I would never do that. shite, I was championing MBB with CJJ saying we got Ben Simmons.

We can talk about this forever. I've said before many times, I'm not going to give up. That's me, regardless if I come across negative because we suck. I don't will us.

You're an optimist always and I appreciate it so much.

But there is a point for you - and me - just understand that as much as we want MBB to succeed... some assholes will never care.

I have seen a lot that makes me both pessimistic and optimistic. Mostly what I know is things change.

I see guys now who seem to have no real interest in MBB but instead are just looking for a reason to dog Woodward or have some ax to grind with another poster or some other odd agenda. But maybe I just don't understand some types of fandom.

That goes both ways unfortunately.

For me, I can see who actually cares about MBB. shite, I’ve been here prior to 2007. I was on roar prior. I met both Shaq and CJ while at LSU. And assholes that joined TD a year ago question my fandom. I watched through the best and the worst.

Couple of years from now, they’ll be gone. And some of us will still be here.

While I've been very clear I don't think he'll be fired after this year I'm not yet willing to go this far in that opinion. He'll have to show more that he has to this point i think even given the apathy that surrounds the program.

You’re a good fan bro. Unlike the OP who gargles dicks for a living and is just grifting this “McMahon is legit” act.

I am. That 99-00 squad was the first really good LSU team of my life. I remember flashes of watching CJ and Shaq and was only 7 when they had lost in the ‘93 NCAA tournament and didn’t realize how long it would be before they’d be back.

What John Brady did in year 3,with actual NCAA sanctions, might be the most impressive thing nobody outside of lsu ever talks about.

Absolutely, what he took over given the current environment vs what it was then (no transfer portal, NIL) a true year zero. Butch would have slayed NIL and the portal, look what he did without it!!

Beshara evokes memories of my late Dad from whom my unconditional love of LSU hoops comes from. He loved Beshara. He always favored the best white player on the team, but to clarify, it was not from a bad place...he loved most all of our players, but it was I think it was just a generational thing.

But when Beshara hit that buzzer beater to win that first round game he was on cloud 9!
