so lets just forget we didnt lose 2-3 games last year. You cant just throw out last season in your argument.

Not saying you are one of the sabans lovers, but if saban is the best, then it doesnt matter what coach we have, we will always be second fiddle. Which is actually bullshite considering les has beat saban 3 times. Im just trying to figure what coach out there has had the same success against saban. Minus spurrier and houston nutt.

Read the entire post. I know that. He won one with two losses. We were lucky to be in that game.

And last year Bama was lucky to get into the game because the couldn't win their own division....because we beat them. I think they cancel each other out, we would have Skull Drug Okie St.

I like how your argument against Miles in these threads is a gif of Jefferson being a dumbass

Does Saban get credit for 2001? I'm sure you credit him with that SEC title and Sugar Bowl victory, right?

Did we not back into that game in 2001 with THREE SEC losses, one of which was a prison style raping by Rex Grossman and Florida in Death Valley?

It's either a championship or it isn't.

And bama lost their biggest game of the year at home the last 2 years. Yet they are primed to repeat as champions. Can't be luck though, its all saban. Amirite?

I just think he's not a NC type coach

He is, by definition a NC type coach. He won one and coached in a second. He lost miserably, but he coached an undefeated team to compete in a NC. Therefore he qualifies as a NC type coach.

To think differently is simply wrong.

And Alabama wasn't lucky to be in last year's game?

Alabama wasn't lucky that Colt McCoy got hurt in Saban's first NC game?

Luck is always part of the equation.

You also think Saban would leave Alabama to come to LSU.

He won't retire from Alabama. Probably wouldn't come back to LSU either but you are an idiot if you wouldn't at least go after him had our coaching position been open.

And he got lucky this year, and got lucky in 03 when he won here. Miles won his championship the same way that Saban has won 2, possibly 3 of his

Bama's team last year would probably beat 9 out of 10 of the previous National Championship teams. We happened to beat them in Tuscaloosa. We had a championship caliber team, but so did they.

So you mean to tell me, no matter who the coach is, if he doesn't win a NC he needs to be fired? If he doesn't win every national championship in his tenure, he should be fired?

Answer the question please, because I would like for you and everyone else who believes this to read it and understand how fricking ignorant you actually are.

You do realize Bill Bellichek has laid eggs twice in Super Bowls. Once with the greatest team ever assembled.

It seems to me there is a large group of the fanbase that is content with 2-3 loss seasons and top ranked non-BCS bowls. They are happy to be "in the hunt" and winning NC's is not the most important thing. If we happen to win one, great. If not, oh well. If this is you, then Les is your coach. There is another group that wants NC's. Period. Don't care who the coach is. Just win.

An old debating trick is to try and set up the opposing points of view in a way that helps your argument. (E.g., Republicans are all about protecting billionaires, Democrats are all about protecting the middle class). If you succeed in getting the other guy to buy into your characterization of the debate, you've already won.

It would be much fairer to say that there are fans who understand that 2-loss seasons (the last 3-loss season was a while ago) are actually the norm even for elite programs, and doing that consistently with the frequent run at something special is the definition of a great program. And then there are fans who see the reasons why those 2 losses happened and focus on the flaws which, if corrected, would have made an excellent season wonderful. Both these points of view have validity. But saying that the first group is "content" with 2 or 3 loss seasons year-in and year-out, and the second group is just seeking the excellence that surely would come with some other coach, is dishonest.

To the OP, Miles supporters want NC's too. 120 other teams want them too. 1 team a year gets to win. You do know that right??

I think what you mistake as complacency is really perspective and realistic expectations.
