If...LES MILES starts Jarrett Lee, the fan base will divide and the race card will open up. Its all a matter of time.

Hatch started last year, sucked and then got hurt. Lee came in and sucked it up for a good chunk of the season. Then came Jefferson who has played OK but not spectacularly. No way we would take a step backwards and go with JL again. If anything it may be time to to fast forward to the Chris Garett/Shep show.

Agree with everything except the Garrett statement. The QB position is not the main problem on offense to begin with. The OL line and the poor playcalling of Crowton.

Why do you people give JJ the benefit of the "experience" excuse and not Lee last year????

I am at a loss to explain your rationale.....

thats exactly why people want to see what he can do why are we wasting a year of development?

A year of development? You know right that Jarrett Lee isn't a division 1-A talent right? Poor mobility...poor decision making...mediocre arm...no touch on his passes, etc.

Guy, try watching LSU games instead of just posting CRAP and acting like you know about college football. If you think Lee is close to as good as Jefferson, stay away from being a talent evaluator. You are a MORON!

Not sure who Guy is.

However, you're obviously slanted in your view. I just want this team to win and that will require offense. Last year we had offense and no defense. This year w/ a decent defense we need more offense. Lee gives us more offense.

may be not...but he throws a much better deep ball than JJ..

his problems were in reading coverage in the middle

How do you know he hasn't improved? People forget that he was thrown in the fire early with an absolutely atrocious defense last year.

Because the people who saw practices who are not coaches and the coaches themselves obviously feel he hasn't improved. BTW, is he faster than molasses which he wasn't last year. Has his arm strength improved since he had a mediocre arm last year? He lacks poise...he is the typical guy who looks good in camps when he isn't hit but when the pressure comes, his poise goes.

I had a long discussion w/a recruiting scout about Jarrett Lee the to other day. And while he did list poor foot work as a one of Lee's weaknesses, he made it very clear that Lee has an NFL caliber arm.

I'll take his word over yours.

theDoc, why do you give JJ the benefit of the doubt and not Lee???

JJ cannot run this offense, Lee can.

because that was the one rationale people were using for why Lee sucked so bad last year. That was the one advantage JL had over JJ going into this season was experience. Now that JJ has 7 games experience under his belt, JL doesn't really have the experience edge any longer.

Which would not be a problem this year, given that we have abandoned the middle of the field completely. Give me JL please. Could not be much worse than what we have seen YTD.

you mean like all the black players not giving 100% about half way through last year.
you mean like all the black players on the team talked about how much of a leader and playmaker JJ was
you mean like how only white players congratulated Lee on his TD pass this year

The race card is already out there. It has been since last year. It started as soon as JJ took a snap. the black guys on our team love him and have acted like he's some great qb. Sadly, some fans actually bought into it.

Hmmmmm, nope I will not waste my fingers.

quote:

Poor mobility

God knows JJ is mobile, he just keeps dropping back, and back, and back......making his OL look silly, but Willie Roaf could not protect his back.

quote:

poor decision making

The decision to not take two sacks on fourth down would have been good......Can someone tell JJ that a pick is actually better than losing yards on fourth and game on the line.

quote:

mediocre arm

As much or more velocity than JJ WITHOUT the middle reliever windup.

quote:

no touch on his passes

JJ delivered four passes last night that were correct. Too high on multiple YAC plays, essentially killing the play.
