I am relieved he is gone, but equally worried that CE0 will prove to be worse. To me Miles was a complete enigma. Seemed unable/willing to learn from his mistakes. Given what CE0 did last year with the offense, I am inclined to think that he suffers from the same pig-headed malady that afflicted Miles. Really hope I am completely wrong about CE0.

Miles was a mistake hire? Wtf? I hope that's a typo or something.

I'm guessing it was sarcasm. At least that's what I'm hoping.

Miles let it slide by getting 20 wrs and cornerbacks everyear. We stop getting oline/dlinemen along with linebackers. When Chavis wanted smaller faster defense was the nail in the coffin along with not being able to get a quarterback worth a crap every year.

I'm not even talking about Troy anymore. We've beat that horse to pulp.

I'm talking about a boring azz, overly conservative, predictable style of football that sucked the life out of every fan every game even in the wins.

He eked out wins in the most heart-stopping and infuriating ways. In a lot of those games...he he prolly should have lost but the talent carried the day.

I never want to go back to that style of football ever again.

To be honest, I wasn't thrilled when Miles was named the head coach after Saban left. I remember thinking "who the hell is Les Miles?" And then remembering he was the coach at Ok. St., I thought, Jesus jumped up and down, is this the best we can do?

But he won me over real quick with the way he handled and guided the team through the 2005 hurricanes. And I for one, unlike quite a few folks here on the rant, perhaps you as well Red, didn't hold the September 2005 Tennessee loss against the man.

Now that doesn't mean there weren't times where I got mad as hell at him during games, but there were times where I got mad as hell with Saban at times and every other coach that's come and gone through the program.

As far as his time at Okie St. being mediocre, I don't know if it was or wasn't. That program struggled for a long damn time before he arrived there. They only had 1 winning season from 1989 until Miles second season there, with only 1 bowl game during that time.

It was time to part ways with Miles. But I think that after o's time is done at LSU, people will look back and think to themselves, gosh, those 8, 9 and 10 win seasons under Miles weren't so bad.

Of course this is only my opinion. Perhaps I'll be wrong.

That's the way I feel as well. I'll take a 17-14, 13-10 or 10-0 victory every day of the week. Find a way to win the game. How it gets done doesn't matter to me.
