People need to chill Cameron will be gone no matter What Les says and he surely isn't going to blast a friend to the media. He doesn't even have a contract after the bowl game..

He's said it about personal fouls like hits out of bounds and roughing the QB too. Suck on that context.

Great post. I just hope Les can hire someone to get some offense priority.

Like running the ball!! Jesus our fans are morons. When LSU passed more, like the tards were screaming, they lost. When LSU established the run, they win. Because that is the strength of the team. Not a talented but very raw qb.

Yes, blame them for the recruiting, but they are playing to the strengths, LF.

He's had that attitude for a while now. Granted I didn't agree with the penalty, but the '10 Ole Miss game where TM14 (at the time) got a late hit out of bounds penalty called on him and Les was clapping for him, telling him to just keep playing hard. Admirable, sure, but considering Les is never visually stressed over penalties, just asking players "what happened" like they fell off their bike, that comment isn't that much of a stretch.

No telling, but in the past, the coaches ride off with another job in hand. He doesn't just fire people. Yes loyal to a fault, that's a valid criticism of Miles. Just because cam is coaching bowl game doesn't mean he will be here next year.

They also had the ball in the third quarter in good field position against bama with chance to take lead...until BH deflated the team with a terrible unforced throw....its like when he made that play the team knew

quote:“The issue is that we have to accomplish the play that’s being called and execute better,” Miles said Sunday. “I promise you, I recognize the effort and energies of my coaching staff. I understand what’s being coached. I have an understanding that we, collectively as coaches and players, have to improve.” Why did you leave out the rest of Miles' statement? He admits the coaches have to do a better job in order for play execution to improve. I'm ready for Miles to retire but some posters on this board are feeding off of each other just to see who can generate the silliest criticism of anything Miles says or does.

Bloodworth -- Way too cherry pick part of a statement to make a point.

However, it will probably take a few more years with performances like the one seen in 2001 for the LSU football program - or at least its fans - to get past setbacks like those experienced this spring and display the confidence that surrounds championship teams.

pretty sure we have moved past this don't you? Do we not expect to compete for championships every year? The program has declined since 2011...is that not a cause for concern?

Colleges with great winning traditions tend not to get mired in what does or doesn't happen in spring practice. You rarely hear about teams at Nebraska, Florida, Tennessee or Miami calling it quits just because of what takes place five months before the season begins.

I can't comment on that because I don't know but I would be willing to bet their fans are no different than LSU fans. Alabama has 80k+ going to their spring game...pretty sure if their qb looks bad they voice their concerns.

Actually he does.

His contract doesn't expire until March...which means he can still be recruiting until and past national signing day.

If admin would start dropping the ban hammer on the ones that are bashing with ridiculous comments then we could half way clean the site up. Nothing wrong with objective criticism....but most of these threads are full of absolute horse shite with each nega trying to outdo one another with negative posts

He has said more than once that he didn't necessarily think penalties were 100% a bad thing because it showed "a sincere want of effort" or some such nonsensical ridiculous bullshite.

I will defend CLM on this one...many coaches don't mind what they call effort penalties. This does not include false starts, illegal formations, and bone headed personal fouls. Some late hits and facemask penalties are effort plays...same with some, not all, offside penalties.

NO, at least not that I can detect from reading most of the football threads on this board.

That's NOT a symptom of catastrophe syndrome which is fans reacting to any flaw no matter how random and assuming it's the end of the football program, or at least back to the Curley Hallman days. (How many times have I read that comparison on this board over the last month? It has to be at least at least a dozen times. And, no, I'm not going to link those posts for you.)

Bloodworth- way to cheery pick....

He admits he has failed to coach them to the point of better execution in the whole quote. It's like failing a test but promising to study more next time. Too many tests have been failed over the years.

2012 was a count hair from winning a nc....people forget that. Had chavis not gone prevent in a game LSU controlled against bama....change that defensive play calling and keep calling it like they had all half and LSU likely wins nc....and okie st doesn't miss chip shot in 11 and LSU has 3 ncs under miles and saban has 1 at bama....its seriously that close to the landscape and perception being totally different.

When they happen with the regularity that it does with LSU, I feel it's more of a discipline issue. At some point, you need to teach your team to play smart. "Effort penalties" are still penalties, and they've cost this team plenty.
