And worse, is that he has waited until now to fix them. This is always my beef with Miles. He is reactive at best with anything and does not teach solid fundamentals.

I think we all know that Miles very rarely lets people know what is going on behind the scenes.... just because he is now publicly saying that they are working on something, doesnt mean they havent already been working on it. If your not on the team or on the staff then STFU, u dont know what ur talking about!

Translated, it's a coaching deal... which Les may have to wait until after the season to deal with. No good leader calls out his staff in front of people. IMO we'll be hiring a new d-coordinator after the season.

Translated.
If Les wasn't flirting with the Michigan job last year then he would have hired one then. He waited too late and that got the Defense in the shape it is in now.

the flirting with meechigan was before the sec title game. that had no impact on us getting a good dc. LSU could have gotten any dc they wanted outside of muschamp bc he probably knows he has the head coach job when mac leaves texas

When Les speaks, all I hear is Charlie Browns teacher trying to talk coach speak.

Miles also said and I quote, "When Lee wasn't throwing it to the other team, he was throwing good."

The problem that people are ignoring is that the issues with this defense have existed over the past 2 seasons now, and honestly were there in 2006. They have just gotten progressively worse, and we had an offense that's turnovers could be at least counter-balanced. Now the offense isn't good enough to make few enough mistakes, and the defense can't make enough good plays to counter those mistakes.

In the end, the discipline on this team has completely disappeared, especially on the defensive side of the ball, and I really think Les does absolutely nothing on that side of the ball.

its a scheme issue with the d. we saw signs last year but when you win that doesn't matter to some. it takes losses to get the majority on board with we have a problem. yet we still have fans that don't think our d is a problem

Oh, I know. And it may not hurt us in recruiting this year, but in time it will as our players don't get drafted very highly. Tyson Jackson was thought to be a first rounder potentially in 2006 if he had been eligible, and now is struggling and may not even be first round at all. Highsmith dropped to undrafted, and now several other players are dropping like rocks based on this years perfomances or lack there of.

It's going to resonate. Playing for championships are important, but blue chip recruits are likely more worried about getting to the next level more than anything.

I am not acting like I know more than the coaches... seriously, no one here knows what goes on at practices, meetings, w/e, you dont know what they spend time working on, how much time certain coaches spend teaching certain things...YOU DONT KNOW! So stop trying to act like you have everything figured out and every one else is stupid for not agreeing.. Les Miles knows what he is doing...how much more does he have to do to prove this? So maybe he made a bad decision with the Defense Coodinators, but you can't know that till you try it. Lets see if he changes it at the end of the yr.

You're kidding, right? LM not happy with the defense! Why, especially, would he be displeased with the D?

So, who thinks he addresses the issues or REALLY believes it's coverage and tackling? I hope he realizes the confusion and players being out of place?

Coleman was clearly in place to make the tackle on Moreno, Eugene was in place to cover Green and should not have had any confusion, Hawkins was in place to cover the receiver, but bit on the screen fake, Cutrera has been in place to make many tackles this season...

Our D problems were present last year too. Remember when Lee Corso called out our D as a fraud? He was right. Everyone was mad about it, but he was right. It needs some help big time. My opinion is to get an NFL DC. Put the job out there the day after the Arkansas game, and make sure everyone knows about it... ever NFL coach - everyone. We need someone that will get our boys in shape, and know a thing or two about pass coverage.

Les gets a for not doing this last season
and our Co-DCs get a double for not living up to their potential

Bump to show that Les isn't putting all the blame on Lee.

We've had missed tackles for the past 3 seasons under Miles, and it will continue this year. The scheme simply worked decently for about 2 years until it was figured out. Now we don't have that to mask the issues.

Yeah, I think we should forfeit last years NC, since our defense was so bad that third year.

Do you guys really think that Les Miles thinks everything is peachy with the D....This is ridiculous to think that. He knows what the issues are.
