LMFAO! He absolutely got lucky as hell in 2007 and with 2 loses won a championship in spite of himself. Then after the bama game in 2011 he gave the entire fan base the middle finger and got his arse handed to him on 1/9/12. Yeah- he had a lot of success at LSU. Way I look at it - winning with Saban’s players - meant winning with the players that had the mentality from being coached by Saban - and able to let it stay with them. Miles continued to recruit well - but ROI was steadily declining. Saban not only built the program - he made it a national brand - he totally increased the value- which paved the way for the next fella to have success. Recall hearing O after NC game in interview - was along the lines of - place like LSU- anybody can be successful- I took it as, an idiot can do this here, if they do t Fook it up.

Mentioned in this thread by a few others, frustration with crap miles would do, yet have the tinge of guilt bc he was a supposed great guy. Strong fam man, approachable, quirky chit made him a character, all that crap-

Strange - this coming out is a shock- but not shocking how he went about it. Hard headed, dude, and I think a bit delusional. You get a stay of execution on best gig you ever had or ever will have- and what do you do diff? Nothing, you double down.

Now look at Saban over at bama- def minded, hard nosed type persona- not only has he evolved as a coach- he didn’t just change with the times, he saw it coming, and made the changes before he had to.

Regardless how we all perceive this- one thing I would think we could all agree on, we feel disgusted with this whole shite show, just a damn sordid mess.

Les did less with more at LSU! He could recuite but sucked as a coach!

Put that there because I didn't want anything thinking I was a Miles apologist for pointing out the head start Saban had at LSU.

As for Miles, I had always been critical of him because of how damned conservative and stupid he was.

The crux of that was how he never ever ran up the score. We'd just futz around with teams we should have been mudholing. Our backups would never get any meaningful time. And then people were surprised the team was gassed all the time and next year rolls around and the backups are totally green with no experience, especially our quarterbacks. All that shite infuriated me to no end.

I watched Spurrier and others whip the dog shite out of people as fast as possible and put in the backups. Year to year, especially at quarterback, teams that like had no problem reloading and winning again. Miles and LSU? Gosh damn struggle just to run a half way competent passing game.

fricking hate that dude.

The quirkiness was fun from 2005 till 2007. But it wore then when it was obvious he wouldn't change and we were fricked, despite the mountains of talent we had.

Do me a favor, go take a second or third look at those years like 2012. So many years, so much talent. Down the drain with nothing to show for it. And you can't deny the talent because the NFL is littered with Tigers.

And the pussy excuse makers all talk about well it's just unlucky we had to go up against Saban and Bama. bullshite! We had the young men to go toe to toe, and win! But Miles just squandered it because he's so damned hard headed and stupid.
