Sorry, but we should have won it all in 2006 with all the talent we had. Also, there's no way the 2007 team should have lost twice.

correct. miles had 5 teams worthy of a natty

06,07, 2011, 2012 and 2016.

when LSu won sec in 2001 we were supposed to lose to UF and UT during regular season. yes we should not have lost to ole miss but that was just 1. D was not great and only in second year rebuilding team from dinardo.

miles as you pointed out lost two he shoulda won in 2007. big difference. but hardware is hardware and that is all that matters. but i am sure we will hear sec sucked in 2001. and why did saban lose 3 in 2004 when all we played was 11 regular season games not to mention he gave up before bowl game and got screwed at auburn so he easily coulda had 11 wins in 2004. but get ready for it blasting him without perspective or context.

if what miles did at lsu is underachieving then why aren't all these better coaches winning more than Miles at their school. surely you know programs do not recruit themselves.

His early recruiting efforts were very overrated, and that's the primary reason for our decline 2008-2010. He had to go out and get a new type of player, and that's the primary reason for our revival 2010-2013.

I DO give him credit for that. The teams he built 2010-2013 were probably his best work as a HC.

You have said that winning sn SEC title is more important than winning A NC..... is still don't see how the 2001 team backed into the SECCG.....

our 2008 team sucked because Saban had all but stopped recruiting. so much so that we signed 13 recruits in the 2005 class.

every program except bama has down years.

he was a flawed coach that won more than any lsu coach before him.

no one is arguing that if Saban wouldve stayed we wouldn't have won more.

I think everyone can agree that a better game day coach wouldve won more than Miles with talent we had.

I'm just saying there is no guarantee that that talent is at lsu

Just as an example, he signed like six offensive linemen in 2006, and they all left due to attrition. All of them. That class also included highly rated WRs like Ricky Dixon and Chris Mitchell who never amounted to much. Players like Shomari Clemons and Troy Giddens and Zhamal Thomas were discipline cases.

The 2007 class was very highly rated. But some of those guys were the definition of overrated: Terrance Toliver was a five star. DeAngelo Benton never played a down. Sidell Corley and Phelon Jones transferred and was never heard from again. Stefoin Francois was a career backup. And we had a couple more offensive linemen who didn't pan out (McCoy, Dworaczyk).

The 2008 class was not very good. #13 ranking nationally and that was about right.

The rebuilding process started in 2009. The next several classes were very good.

look peej if we are gonna have cordial discussion then youre gonna have to stop taking my posts and then turning them into something I never said.

I said...
quote:

sec titles are LESS SUBJECTIVE than a NC. you don't get voted into the seccg. there are no passing the eye tests that will get you into the seccg.

and that was when it was the bad.
the sec title is the only title that the players and coaches have 100% control over winning or not.

there are power 5 prohrams that coukd go undefeated and not get VOTED into the playoffs. that would never happen in a conference title game

Wrong. Miles' classes 2006-2008 were not good. Very overrated. It's true.

It's a message board. Get over it. I can say whatever I want within certain limits. I state my opinions strongly. Sorry they bother you, but clearly we disagree.
