you honestly think that's realistic?

will LSU win the championship every year?

No.

will they believe they can?

I would HOPE so.

Miles has recruited very well, so the talent is there. but I don't believe he and the staff are using the players correctly.

as the games have shown.

he needs to quit playing the ones who can't tackle or cover, and replace them with ones who can...I don't go to practice though, maybe none can. Other than that, everything else is minor outside of the QB situation.

This is the exact reason coaches don't want to come here. One leaves and we have to settle for whatever we can get because ya'll expect a nation championship every year. Guess what it ain't gonna happen and this will not be the only year we lose 5 games. Miles should feel pressure but not hated at this point.

That may deter some coaches, but the multimillion dollar contracts more than make up for it. Do you really prefer a meek coach who would rather stay out of the limelight than compete at an elite level???

That's why LSU picked up the moniker "Coaches Graveyard" many years ago.

I thought that was South Carolina.

The right teams also lost on the last day in 2003 to get us in the title game. Does that make us lucky in 2003, too?

if you are depending on other teams, esp. underdogs, to win to get you to the NC then yes luck was a factor

he says that alot!!!!!!!!!

He has not fixed very much this yr...

We'll c??? i dont believe he is as gd coach as everyone thinks he is???or did a yr or 2 ago....i never thought so...folks are starting to lean that way know, NO DOUBT!

I hope I am wrong...i do...for the program! maybe he gets in done...he has done somethings w/ nice results, but...this was a pure coaching season....(w/ an outstanding "D"-presumed)and the performance of the HC...has been bad! everything starts on top, QB play, DC sits., adjustments, Off. play calling., sp.team play, personnel, line play, gm mgt etc. etc. etc. on and on!!!!!!!!! it all starts w/ LES or more...HAAAAAAAAA!

I hope I am wrong....MAKE THE RIGHT OFF SEASON MOVES SO WE CAN MOVE FORWARD....THATS ALL!

lets win the bowl...and start lookin forward!

____________
OK well, to be fair, UF went 9-3 at this point while LSU has gone 7-5, so not quite the same really.
____________

And UF had the Heisman winner at QB. A returning player who had been groomed to play the position the year before...Sounds like...aw forget it. If you can't figure it out by now you never will.

Starting to sound like Gary Kubiak here in Houston. Every game his team makes the same mistakes and every press conference he says "the guys are working hard and they are getting better. We are going to go back to work here and get it corrected".

You can set your watch by it.

With the present system, many teams are lucky to get into the national championship game.

i agree with this...

Agreed. Lots of teams have talent now and a superior scheme/coaching can be the difference in 2-3 wins per year in the SEC. Way too much talent to always be in close games with teams we are better than. LAst year we should have blown out Kentucky and Arkansas and Alabama. There is no killer instinct on this team. WE repeatedly make mistakes to let teams stay in games and ultimately lose in the end or have to fight and claw to hang on. We need a complete change of attitude on the coaching staff and among the team leaders. One that does not tolerate a player costing his team the game by selfishly punching a guy after the play. There should be such an atmosphere of excellence and discipline on the team that a player will stop himself before he does that because he knows the penalty from his coach is too severe.

what the frick do you want him to say?? All year you idiots break down every single possible word in his press conference and complain about him not saying anything about issues and now he says something, people laugh and joke about it.

I think Les would have his words less inspected if he was running for President.

IF he makes significant staff changes he has 2 more years. The MNC gave him 3 years of bank. He has used 1.

W/ no changes to correct very obvious problems, he has only next year.

But, I can't see a scenario where changes are not made.

Like any business revenue is of primary concern. There is a baseball stadium and softball complex under construction in addition to the recent completion of improvements to Tiger Stadium. More enhancements are on the way, and although our economy is still pretty good, people are evaluating their spending closely. Admin staff and others who make it possible to pay a coach nearly 4 mill a year will not let this go far. That's just the nature of the business.

Not to the Sabanistas that don't like Miles. They would perform sex acts on Saban if they could.

LSU has had 7 count 'em 7 Head Football coaches in 25 years. South Carolina has had 5 in 25 years.

He was a pretty damn good coach last year wasn't he.
No he was a below avg coach with superior talent that won games in spite of horrible coaching decisions. i.e. not rushing Scott in the second half of Kentucky game. Not blitzing Arky on fourth and forever. Pretty obvious decisions that a half decent coach would make.
